Personally, I prefer not to try and divide all the music into little category-boxes, although I understand that's often necessary for marketing purposes. I like having the new bands listed in with the old classics (and old obscurities); it encourages people to try something new (or old) that ...

I wanted to thank you for adding this particular show...as I was there. It's amazing to get to hear a show I attended almost thirty years ago. Not to get greedy, but it would be of particular interest to have the corresponding opening acts added....particularly some of the ''local'' acts that were mainstays as ...

RobMac says regarding Van Morrison, '' I always liked him but was not real familiar with his music until I started collecting bootlegs about 25 years ago.''
We're in a strange place in the history of rock music: more music is available than ever before, but the rock and roll audience is beginning to die off. The archival ...

Robmac: Yeah, you're right about the year being '71 instead of '70, and I agree with you on that version of ''Just Like A Woman.'' I got a copy of this years ago from someone who had recorded it on reel-to-reel and it's been one of my favorite live performances ever since I got it....and I'm not a big Van Morrison fan.
That ...

There is also a KSAN-FM show from the same year, recorded at Pacific High Studios. It's been widely bootlegged, but the version I heard was in monophonic sound. If we're lucky, WV may have a copy of a stereo version in the vaults...

Double X: ''Does anyone know where or how to get the video and/audio for both of the US festivals. Any info?''
I know that portions of the 1983 US Festival were released as an 18-LP set to radio stations by Westwood One. I saw a copy on Ebay last year and copied the set list for future reference. I don't ...

Gtrzan:
My understanding is Utopia was originally a side project that Rundgren used to explore extended prog-rock jams...and their second album (1975's ''Another Live'') was a live album, although I can't remember if it was a single or double LP. Todd Rundgren also did a late '70's live double album called ...

''Black Maria'' is from Rundgren's 1972 double-lp album, ''Something/Anything?.''

GTRZAN:
I did some digging for you on the 'net, and found a reference for a bootleg named ''Super Jam'' that lists the tracks as being:
Journey & Friends Super Jam 2 - San Francisco Studio Concert - KBFH Radio01 Intro's02 Feeling That Way03 Anytime04 Roadrunner05 Love Hurts06 Hold On (I'm Coming)07 People Get Ready08 Show Me09 Crossroads010 ...

While I'm not a Journey fan, I remember that the KBFH recorded a ''super-jam'' of Journey with Special Guests (Tom Johnston from the Doobie Brothers, the T.o.P. horn section, etc.) where they didn't play their normal setlist, but played a bunch of R&B/Soul tunes from the 60's.
This is actually more intriguing to me than a standard ...

Miami Steve: Thanks for the link. That makes for some interesting reading, particularly when cross-referenced with MrPaulCaruso's page...
So...from that I conclude that WV has access to the ''Live At The Record Plant'' master tapes (as distinct from the KSAN archives), and that we may have quite a few ...

Stranger says, ''Related to that question (since some of the shows I hope for would be sourced from these) - does the Vault have access to show from the Chicago and San Francisco FM stations that broadcast shows like those?''
My guess (and it's a guess) is that they have access to some of the KSAN-FM shows. The Record Plant/Sausalito ...

I see two Faces shows listed under ''R'' for ''Rod Stewart & The Faces:'' Anaheim 10/17/73 and Swing Auditorium 3/7/75. Are either of those the missing show?
-
Could it have been a short-lived stage name? ''Kreutzmann'' isn't all that difficult, but neither was Dino Crocetti....
-
First of all, thanks for the new Tom Petty show...it's a great one, and was the source of the bulk of Petty's 1980 KBFH show...however, I believe you've got the wrong date on it. Petty played two nights at Hammersmith in 1980: 3/6/80 and 3/7/80. This new show is the second date (3/7/80) - you can tell

I remember that Journey did a King Biscuit show wherein they didn't play their regular set list, but did blues and soul cover tunes. There's also a Journey broadcast from the Record Plant that hasn't been posted yet....
-
Interviews added....that's a nice touch. Most stations had syndicated shows like ''In The Studio'' or ''Off The Record,'' so there must be hundreds of these available.
I see that artists are now cross-referenced with the various incarnations of themselves and affiliated groups: Eric Clapton now hyperlinks to Cream and ...

I agree, they've done a great job. The jump in ''Les Bres'' sounds like a reel change. BTW, while trying to ascertain if it was Winterland or Cow Palace I ran across webpages for several CD-R traders who claim to have the entire show, including the missing portions of ''Midnight Rider'' and ''Blue Sky.''
Here's ...

Miami Steve says, ''A quick check of some online archives revealed this show was at the Cow Palace...''
Yeah, I came to the same conclusion, once I heard the second KSAN deejay (who I suspect is Rachel Donahue) concur with the Wolfgang's Vault attribution. This error on the part of the deejay does explain the few ...
-
Okay...just before the 5:00 minute mark in ''drum solo,'' a KSAN deejay does another station i.d. and this time identifies the venue as the Cow Palace. Winterland? Cow Palace? Ah.... at least they're not operating heavy machinery.
Also: at approx. 2:05 in Les Brers In A Minor Part 3 there's a clearly audible break in ...
