MrPaulCaruso: somebodyelse:Trying to get us primed for New Year's eve?You caught one of our mistakes, somebodyelse. We are planning a few New Year's concerts for release on 1/1, and posted them here instead of our test servers. They've been backed off. Sorry about that!Mr. PC Speaking of New Year's Eve concerts, I would like to ...

  • Re: Allman Brothers - Winterland or the Cow Palace??

DRaftervoi: BTW, there are microfiche archives of the San Francisco Chronicle out at San Francisco State - a quick look at the ''pink section'' of the Chron could probably settle some of these mysteries. Newspaper archives are definitely your best source for accurate information. A quick check of some online archives ...

DRaftervoi: As for the Petty/Paradise, Boston 1978 having been re-broadcast by KBFH, I've never seen it, but I collect CDs and LPs....could it be one of the shows that was on reel-to-reel? Which raises a question someone may be able to shed some light on: the history of KBFH itself. I think the shows were ...

A few quick comments on the last few posts. The Lou Reed concerts at the old Agora Ballroom were broadcast on WMMS, as were hundreds of other concerts from the mid '70s until 1984 when it closed. Earlier this year there was an online article about restoring/remastering the Record Plant tapes. Interesting reading.

  • Cheap Trick

The ''new'' Cheap Trick 6/4/79 concert added this week is the same recording as the 6/12/78 concert except that it has two additional songs. Why does one ''master tape'' have two more songs than the other ''master tape'', and didn't anyone write down what they were recording on these professional multi-track tapes? By the way, Cheap ...

  • Dallas, TX 1979

This is the King Biscuit Flower Hour show that was broadcast on January 13, 1980. It was a split program with Joe Jackson which accounts for the short set. A more complete version of this recording, including the songs Hanging On The Telephone, You Look Good In Blue, Heart Of Glass, and Bang A Gong (Get It On), can be found on the ...

The write-up for Ian Hunter at the Agora Ballroom on 6/18/79 says ''the absence of several of his classic songs such as โ€œAll The Young Dudesโ€ and โ€œOnce Bitten Twice Shyโ€ is a surprising deviation from his usual show staples''. Surprising indeed since both of these songs are on my tape of the radio broadcast of this concert.

The Dave Edmunds concert download described as being from the Roseland Ballroom 6/19/83 is mostly the same recording as the other DE show that is correctly listed as Roseland Ballroom 5/18/83. 6/19/83 was the broadcast date of the King Biscuit Flower Hour show that featured the Roseland recording, and the last four tracks of the download ...

  • Hammersmith Odeon, London 1980

Has anyone else noticed the difference between this concert and the King Biscuit Flower Hour radio show also recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon? Aside from the different mix and the additional songs, some of these songs are definitely not from the same recording. The distinctive soundcheck at the beginning is identical, and a few songs ...
