Yeah, I agree - there's some good stuff out there post 1970. Personally, I really enjoy the 1974 stuff with Jellyroll Troy; its pretty wild. I'm assuming, though, that rumor began to spread that Bloomfield's touch was fading, not sure. I heard his later years he became very unreliable, therefore, pushing away a lotta people.

Hi Peggy ~ Thanks for the heads up about the books. I'm definitely gonna get that new one ''Tell on it.'' Thanks for the link! Yeah, I've got ''Festival'' as well as ''Monterey Pop'' with Electric Flag. Great to see Michael clapping happily after Butterfield's set, the scene of him addressing the crowd, ''It's ...

  • Re: Mike Bloomfield: Live at the Fillmore West?

I dont know if you're still looking for an answer to your question of whether Mike Bloomfield played at the Fillmore West in '69 or not, but I think I could help. Yes, he did play the Fillmore in '69, quite a bit, I believe. And, yes, there are recordings of it. These dates, I know for sure, he did play: 1/31, 2/1,

I, too, love hearing stories about Mike Bloomfield, especially first-hand stories of those who knew him, worked with him, etc. I really have yet to find a forum totally dedicated to Bloomfield as his official website forum seems to have been shut down in '03. Anyways, I'm a HUGE Bloomfield fan, have all the official releases and have ...
