Has anyone at Wolfgang seen a recording of the Blondie Novemeber or December Winterland gig?Aside from a comment on Blondie's official gig list that it was recorded and broadcast, a web entry I saw last year on the subject, Wolfgang did record many of the Winterland gigs, which suggests this does exist.''Winterland - w/ REO Speedwagon. KSAN ...

I have read about a King Biscuit Flour Hour Robert Palmer show recorded in 1979 featuring the following tracks:
Every Kinda People, What's It Take, Love Stop, Give Me an Inch Girl, Bad Case of Lovin' You, Jealous, You're Gonna Get What's Comin'.
Is it possible to put this show up, preferably in the buyable section?

Since Winterland was a Bill Graham connected venue, any chance this gig was recorded?
Something tell me it wouldn't have been, since Bowie or more like DeFries would have prevented it, but it would be fascinating to hear if it was...

RE Leonard Cohen, it would be very appropriate to have some of his concert material here. The Commander Cohen official live CD did not do his live work justice, nor have his other official live albums - not fully anyway, given the length and entertainment found in listen to a full live concert recording.
For all those convinced 'Laughing Len' has ...

I've checked the link re Record Plant.
I guess you cannot announce further acquisitions until they are complete...
However I would love it if you can work with or offer complete archives from San Francisco and Chicago stations that broadcast favourite gigs by Blondie, Iggy, Lou Reed and Talking Heads.
Also I would love to hear more lossless

PS re my question re Iggy Blondie and Talking Heads shows from the late 70's - I'd be keen to hear some Lou Reed from 1978, there were at least 3 FM broadcasts of some great shows that year (and much better than the revered 'Take No Prisoners' album too, actually).

If there are 7000 shows in total, I'm interested in a few things -
how many shows are online now?
Is there a plan to transfer some of the existing best shows to be available as buyable downloads? Some of the shows are too good - they really have classic status and a very large number of people who want to hear them more than just ...

You're both right! :)
I - with respect - couldn't care much about hearing a Guess Who show, *but* I totally understand the wish/desperation to hear new shows by a beloved artist on here.
I also totally sympathise with the wish to hear the shows already here in better quality as downloads. While that may not be possible for some - ...

''Hey you Bowie fans! Didn't you notice that the new Bowie concert is already available officially? Just look for Glass Spider DVD & 2CD edition. I got mine a couple of months ago. DVD is ''filmed at Sydney, Entertainment Center, 7th & 9th November 1987'', while the CDs were ''recorded live at the Olympic Stadium, Montreal, August 30th ...

Avon:I now see that this page is a place to suggest changing a review or concert description. In today's Vault, where Canned Heat is discussed, can you change the word ''underestimated'' to ''overestimated'' ASAP? It unintentionally insults two deceased musicians to say their loss cannot be underestimated, when only praise was intended.
I'm ...

The addition of a Pat Benatar gig from *the Old Wardorf* is encouraging...maybe the Blondie and Iggy gigs from there (1977 and 1979 respectively) which were broadcast on local radio can get on Wolfgang soon!
As buyable downloads, please!
The Blondie gig is *fantastic*!!
And the Iggy one too...it has circulated in fan circles but with wonky speed

couldn't agree more re Bowie to download.
Somehow I get the feeling his lawyers would stop it...not much quality Bowie unreleased stuff seeps out and the free (albeit lossy) streamed material here might be the best we can get.
I also wish we could get some Blondie buyable downloads...the latest gig from 1979 has been subject to debate as to ...

So glad about the new Lou Reed concert you've just added...going to love listening to this, and as a buyable download too!
Please try and get one of his 1978 shows...if possible the Chicago Park West show!

Re your question DRaftervoi -
''As for the Bowie/mono issue: could it be that the circulating show was sourced from a cassette tape recorded by a fan, rather than a radio station reel, or a soundboard?....Do you know when the BBC began broadcasting in stereo?''
The BBC apparently did their first stereo broadcasts I think as one channel ...

I'd certainly give a Joe Jackson show a spin...I'm the Man was great stuff from the early days, and I remember 'Different For Girls' from my childhood.
I'm not an expert of Van Morrison (although I do like some of his more well known / better stuff), but I'd say there is a good chance a stereo version exists.
I say this on the basis a stereo ...

David Bowie was featured in radio broadcasts as follows, which Wolfgang might have access to -
25/08/1991 Rockit Cargo Depot, Los Angeles USA20/11/1991 Orpheum Theatre, Boston USA16/11/1991 Citadel Center, Washington USA29/11/1991 Academy Theatre, New York USA07/12/1991 Riviera, Chicago USA17/12/1991 Warfield, San Fransisco USA04/08/1997 Boston, ...

As a further update to the requests before, I'd like to add -
Iggy Pop did a gig at Chicago The Metro in 1988. I believe it was recorded for FM radio, I can't find any data on when it was broadcast but the fact it circulates suggests it was broadcast, or at least recorded for radio (it sounds recorded for that purpose rather than a straight ...

Yes radio stations did broadcast from reel to reel in the 70's...I know as I almost bought a reel to reel of the Iggy Pop Chicago Mantra Studios 28.3.77 rehearsal, that had been broadcast on FM radio. Oddly - particularly as it features Bowie - even an authorised release has not been made from the mastertape. Maybe Wolfgang can get onto that one! I

Thanks for the updates Steve!
Seems that Blondie Winterland gig would have been 18th November 1978.
Never heard it despite collecting loads of FM radio gigs...since it also a venue associated with Bill Graham, here's hoping the gig definitely gets on Wolfgang, and as a buyable download!

Here are some Lou Reed shows I think that Wolfgang might be able to get hold of I'd love to hear...
29-10-76 Orpheum Theatre, Boston WBCN-FM; 01-12-76 Roxy Theatre, Los Angeles KMET FM; 26-05-79 El Mocambo, Toronto WPIX FM; 30-05-79 Paradise, Boston FM – Unknown Station; 27-05-80 Agora Ballroom, Cleveland FM – Unknown Station; 25-09-84 ...
