Been following the Vault since Feb of '06. I love it. But I have one beef. I want to know what's been added recently. Used to be able to do it but now we get Recently Featured. Oh great! A new show by my favorite band! Nope, the comments go back to last year. Heard it. Throw us old timers a bone and let us see what's new. At least let us sort by ...

3 years later and people are still riled up about my original post. I love the statement, ''There has never been three musians that ever assembled at one time that had more talent and ability than Jones, Bonham, and Page...'' Ever? John, Paul, George? Eric, Jack, Ginger? Ever? No jazz trio? No dudes who rocked with Mozart? Louis Armstrong, Johnny ...

Almost two years have gone by since I opened
this thread. 164 replies. Over 133,000 views. And Led Zeppelin is still over
rated. But it's been fun. I wonder if any artist related thread has more views
or comments. (I use the term ''artist'' loosely.)
Scanning through the comments, I have to respond to one thing: the theft of
song writing ...

You just threatened to kill me. Hey moderator, this Led head just threatened to kill me. I go away for a few months and I get to come back to death threats? Sweet. Death threats...All so you could claim Jones as the 20th best bass player? (Presence not included.) You can't believe I dare to question Plant's singing? You missed the point. ...

Finally, someone gets specific about ripping off
songs. So Clapton stole Strange Brew. Do you mean the style is copied or
do you mean that there's an Albert King song out there with lyrics that and/or
melody were lifted? If so what is that song called? One of the things the first
few Cream and Bluesbreakers albums did was steer me towards the ...

How not to be Led Zeppelin. No chipmunk singers. Rape is not
cool. Unless you’re Focus and you’re doing Hocus Pocus, no yodeling. When
you’ve got a good groove going, do not stop to show off. Give credit when you
“borrow” more than a lick or a line. Don’t write about elves and gnomes because
they don’t write about you. Popularity does not ...

I would buy anything that Jack ''the Holy Ghost'' would put out just to hear that bass such as... Sweeping Up the Spotlight - Jefferson Airplane Live at the Fillmore East 1969
Release Date: February 13, 2007RCA Legacy recordingsHas the Vault goosed the Airplane into new live stuff the same way it did with Neil Young?1

HarryOgre,
I looked for terms and conditions on the LZ thread that
indicated it was for the exclusive use of rabid fans only. I didn’t see
anything that said I had to say only positive things. Please don’t go to the
Madonna thread and criticize. Unless you want to. The good people at the Vault
opened a forum and said, “go” so I

I have a long term substituting gig with some 11th
graders and today they were bashing Hendrix as over-rated when compared to
Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Vai. I tried to explain his importance as an
innovator and incredibly soulful guitarist but these uh, scholars wouldn’t hear
of it. “But Mr. H, those guys shred.” Rather than telling them ...

Peter Grant,
Overeducated? As compared to? I went to several schools. I
won’t list them because that bugs you.
Resume flashing? Just putting things in context for the
people like you who are curious about the genesis of my opinions. Oops, big
words. Why I think stuff that I think. You make several references that might
indicate

Oldhippy,
Head up my…? With my old back I’d never be able to get my
head anywhere near my ass. There’s another post on this thread that ripped me
for trying to bring some context by listing some of my rock and roll resume.
Yours is impressive and implies a thorough British LZ background. As I’ve said,
I saw them only twice and ...

Yes no man is an island but as the Jefferson Airplane said
“he’s a peninsula.” Once again, just because something is popular doesn’t mean
it is necessarily good. That’s like saying that the popular kids in high school
are the best because they’re popular. The majority isn’t always wise.

The Vault gets sued by (among others) Led Zepplin.
Reuters “On Monday, major rock names including Grateful Dead
Productions, Carlos Santana and members of Led Zeppelin and The Doors, sued the
current owner, claiming it was illegally offering recordings to stimulate sales
of other products.
Wolfgang's Vault ...

Thank you Lee, it was getting lonely over here in the
LZ-is-over-rated camp.
I love the fishing that’s going on. Lets list the bait:
Devo. Joan Baez. The Allman Brothers. BRIT KNEE, JESSICA, ASHLEY. Cream.
James Taylor. I must hate all rock if I don’t drool over the Zep. And LZ is
more important than the Beatles. ...

Thank you for the name calling. That's very deep. Review of tour manager Richard Cole's Stairway to Heaven: Led Zeppelin Uncensored by tour manager Richard Cole ''We get detailed accounts of lead guitarist Jimmy Page's obsession with witchcraft and whips, and of the band's supposed pact with Satan, in which the lads sold their ...

I've been trying to understand for years. These recordings sealed the deal for me. ''So why are you here in the first place?'' If you are a fanatic why are you visiting a thread entitled ''The worst singer and the most overrated band in the history of rock?''You might want to start a thread called ''The Best Thing That Ever Was and Will Be.''Peter ...

Van says that Katie is going to sing so I presume it's Katie Kissoon. Katie Kissoon also sang back up for Roger Waters, George Harrison and others.Peter H

Excellent choice. I have this show on vinyl and Peter Wolf is listed as
master of ceremonies. May I suggest that the opening paragraph be revised as
follows?
Van Morrison was enjoying a commercial renaissance with this
tour and the album he was promoting at the time. Always a consummate performer,
Morrison delivered a stunning ...

I’d heard of the Vault but couldn’t get to a computer for a
few days. All I could think was please give us some Jefferson airplane, oh
please, oh please. I’m not disappointed. I now hunger for more.
Back in my 60’s youth there was a Dead/JA debate on par with
the Beatles/Stones. Love the Dead but the Airplane was my band. Saw ...

To paraphrase Max Yasgur, “I’m a rock fan.” My first album
was the Beatles Second Album. 9th birthday. 1964. My latest is the
new Joan Osborne. My tastes are all over the place. Do I like bland and modern
as suggested above? Who would that be? I do play it safe sometimes if you can
call Los Lobos safe. But I’ve always given everything a ...
