''Oh Thank You Great Spirit'' is about Jimi Hendrix, whom TK idolized.
I think the lyrics are supposed to be how Hendrix may have felt on the day he died: ''I woke up that morning feeling so rested and young.'' ''I couldn't quite understand why I felt so fine, I felt so free, so beyond it all.''

Word is that Terry was very depressed for multiple reasons. The band was going soft while he remained a hard rocker. His marriage was shaky. He envied the recognition Clapton and others got while he was hidden in an inreasingly ballad-driven band. He was worn out by the travel and Chicago was a heavy road band all the way through. CBS had them on a

I don't think Cream was over-rated.
I do think Clapton as a guitarist is highly over-rated.
I think Clapton's music after 461 Ocean Blvd. is hugely over-rated; everything before that, especially Derek and the D's, is deserving of all the praise it gets and maybe more.
Derek and the D's gets better every year that goes by.

Thank you for the CTA shows.
We CTA/Chicago fans are in heaven with Terry Kath shredding like he invented the guitar.
Outstanding write-up also - it's very complimentary while fairly conveying that the guts they showed in '69 would gradually slip as they succumbed to commercial and other pressures.
-
Any idea when the Fillmore CTA shows from 1969 will be added?
Tanglewood, 1970 too, as long as I'm asking?
Thanks, as usual!

Just one more thing here...really want to say 'thanks' for the Chicago shows again
we Chicago fans get emotional about the Terry issue. Please take that into consideration. I don't want you to stop adding Chicago cause we got a bit nasty...
thanks again...keep the concerts coming, and remember, Terry's death was ruled an accident.
-
dude - you beat me to it...this post upsets me as well
i still want to thank the vault for the concert, but god - you CAN'T write something like that so casually
the russian roulette thing is a lazy, nasty rumour...
-
Hey Wolfie's V - THANK YOU for adding the June, 1974 Chicago show!!
Ready to purchase when you make that an option....will buy as many Chicago shows as you can get uploaded.
-
Oh, the humanity...we had lots of CTA when W's Vault launched, and now, mostly Wolfgang is silent...la la la la la.
Please add CTA - I will fire up the paypal / cr card ASAP for that!

While you're waiting for KC, make sure you go to youtube and do a search on 'king crimson.'
One of the first results is the band doing ''Elephant Talk'' live on some unidentified TV show. Mind-boggling how good the performance is. Absolutley ripping.

I second that emotion.
Just a friendly reminder from CTA Fans that we are out here. I know you have promised CTA but just wanted to keep their name fresh in mind - squeaky wheel etc. etc.
-
Another CTA fan here anxiously awaiting a concert.
Thanks for including them in the rotation so many weeks. What a treat to hear ''new'' Terry Kath!
-
What a great surprise Wolfgang's Vault is!!
I don't listen to the radio anymore, not simply because I am older, but because the music on commercial radio is horrendous.
This site brings me back to the days when FM radio was full of great music...thanks....keep it coming. I will support the site and continue alerting my 40-something friends to it.
-
I second that emotion.
W.'s Vault has been so generous with the CTA on Vault Radio. I really hope you add them to the concert roster....what a thrill it has been to hear Terry Kath wailing on his Stratocaster!!!
