If you've never seen Jackson perform with all or most of the players used on "Running on Empty", you've really missed something special.

In addition to the phenominal multi-insturmentalist David Lindley (guitar, etc.), the Asylum Records house band ("The Section") with Danny Kortchmar (guitar, etc.), Leland Sklar (bass), Craig Doerge (keyboards) and Russ Kunkle (drums) helped record many of the classic 70's AOR standards with performers like Browne, Linda Ronstandt, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, and MANY others. These fine players continue to this day to appear both with and without credit on scores of popular recordings.

When these studio virtuosos cut loose together on stage they provided a level of musicianship seldom matched with other 70's groups (even the ones who occassionally performed sober!)
