I can't believe I found a live recording of
Hedzoleh Soundz! I first heard them in Santa Cruz, CA during the mid '70's and instantly became a fan. They were my introduction to the world of
African music, of which I've collected for 30 years now. Hugh Masekela is an outstanding musician. Check this concert out – if you like fusion groups like Weather Report and what Miles Davis was doing with Bitches Brew (my two requests for live shows) you'll dig this mix of rhythmic roots, blues, jazz and rock.
Anyone remember the club "Wolfgangs" in San Francisco? It was Bill Graham's club. Nice little venue. There were some great reggae and African shows there. The Buntu Boys, Thomas Mapfumo, The Lijadu Sisters, Taxi w/ Sly & Robbie, Pato Banton... any recordings in the Vault from this club?
THANK YOU TEAM WV!!
