    Thread Suddenly Stops....

First off, allow me to thank you, Paul, for diligently answering all these questions. Concert vault is truly an awesome site, especially the fact that all this great music is free.

I've always had a problem streaming with my laptop from home. I've got a wireless network, with cable which I've tested the bandwidth and its speed is fine. Typically, the concert will load, connect, then play for a few minutes and suddenly stop. Once it stops, I can pause it, restart it -- the concert will begin playing again but only for another couple minutes, then it stops again. Theoretically, I could repeat the process, over and over, but that would be ridiculous.

I've made the following changes in an attempt to correct the issue:

    1. Always clear the browser's cache; I'm confident this is NOT the problem

    2. Turned off the laptops firewall

    3. Disabled all my LAN connections; the only non-disabled connection is my wireless connection.

    4. Increased the amount of disk space available for the 'temporary internet files' folder to 32000 MB.

    Any pointers are greatly appreciated.

    Regards,

    1993Nole1999

    Re: Thread Suddenly Stops....

What kind of wireless router are you using?  And what type of internet connection?

The symptom sounds like you get occasional interruptions of service.  None of the measures you took will address this; as our site is a true streaming site, if your service is interrupted for 10 seconds or more the stream will drop.

    Cheers - Mr. PC

    Re: Thread Suddenly Stops....

I'm using a D-Link router...I'm pretty confident its not the router since my g-friends laptop can stream music OK. My internet connection is cable and typically as fast as a T1 line

Also, the stream ALWAYS stops after approx. 2 minutes, no more.

I can view videos on YouTube and Google jsut fine, without interuption.

Hmmm, should be fine.  so your g-friend's laptop is fine through your router?

Tell me about your laptop & it's wireless (built-in or 3rd party card) and I'll forward this to engineering.

    Re: Thread Suddenly Stops....

Thanks for be willing to help!

Lets see if I can be specific enough here...

When I go to device manager, under 'Network Adapters' I see three items listed:

    1.Broadcom 570x Gigabit Integrated Controller

    2.Dell TrueMobile 1300 WLAN Mini-PCI Card

    3.Microsoft Loopback Adapter

From the properites window for the 'Dell TrueMobile 1300 WLAN Mini-PCI Card' device what do you need?

    Re: Thread Suddenly Stops....

Sorry it took us a while to get back to you.  Our engineers are a bit puzzled, but ask that you do the following:

Launch the player.  After you get “buffer full” and the track counter sits at 0:00, do the following.

Hover your mouse over the very top right corner of the player.  You’ll see the pointer change from an arrow to a hand.  Click, and the Summary area in the bottom part of a player will switch to a diagnostic log.

Click in the log area, select all, and then paste the results into a message from our CONTACT US page (goes straight to engineering).

    Cheers!
