First off, thanks for posting some live Yes on your amazing fantastic live rock site.
As dp said in an earlier thread, it is well known in Yes circles that the King Biscuit show is in fact the much celebrated (and bootlegged) show from Wembley's "Empire Pool", recorded on the evening show of 28th October 1978, recorded on 24 track tape by Tony Wilson for one of the first editions of the BBC's "Friday Rock Show". Note-by-note, word-for-word comparisons confirm this every time, and whether it was wrongly supplied to KB as being from LA or whether they made that bit up all on their own is the only matter in question here. In any case the dates played in LA were 5th to 9th October 1978 as detailed in the live Yes bible forgottenyesterdays.com.
In terms of concert coverage, your stream includes Rick Wakeman's solo which has never before been broadcast - a thousand thanks for that! It is missing Awaken, of which a few tantalizing seconds can be heard at the end of Rick's solo - I can supply this to WV if you care to email me privately. All broadcasts (BBC and KB alike) have omitted Future Times/Rejoice which seems sadly to be lost. Otherwise it's all there in a slightly shuffled form (Rick's solo and the Time & A Word medley being spliced from their original performance order onto the end).
Would you really say "Silent Wings Of Freedom" is more accessible and popular than "All Good People" ?? Give them another spin - oh well, matter of opinion I guess ;)
And now a plea ...
Die hard yes fans have much material from which to draw as far as the 1978/1979 Tormato tours is concerned, several nice radio broadcasts and a couple of top draw soundboard recordings. Your stream is a great showcase for those with casual interests - one of the best performances Yes ever turned in. But for we fanatics the holy grail definitely lies elsewere: we have no decent (pro) recordings at all from the 1977 Going For The One tour. We'd be eternally grateful if you can scour Bill Graham's archive and come up with, say, one of the half dozen Californian shows from this tour.
Thanks for reading, LH
