    Quality of Wolfgangsvault audio stream

Could someone please clarify an issue for me?  I've tried pokin' around for the answer but don't seem to find it directly addressed.  I am on a broadband connection here at work but the speakers are junk for evaluating the arriving sound quality of the streaming audio.

So, the question is, on a broadband connection that plays the audio in real time, is the audio stream lossless, or, something else?

This is of some importance for the future as if Wolfgangsvault begins selling lossless CD's or downloads, I'd like to know if it's worth upgrading the computer speakers so that I can accurately sample what the actual performance I'm buying sounds like.  I realize the sound quality varies from performance to performance and I'd like to be able to have an idea of those I want to purchase a nice lossless copy of and those I'd perhaps rather not if the sound quality, even though lossless, is not something my ear tolerates without complaint.

Thanks!  Really looking forward to purchasing lossless performances if they're offered!

And, please note, the whole Wolfgangsvault thing is like a dream come true, thanks so much for makin' it happen!...

I want to thank Wolfgang himself for this glimpse into the past. For years and

years I have waited to hear live music from the 60's , 70's and 80's! I

have been lucky enough to see many of the great artists that you feature

here, and I always wanted to sneak a tape recorder into the show! Not to

sell or make a dime, but for the pure joy of re- living that particular

performance! Thank you so much for bringing new life to my old

computer! PS, does it get any better than Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton,

Steve Miller, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, the Allman Brothers, CSN&Y,

Mountain, the Pretenders and Rory Gallgher? I think not, but I'm

''Still Raining, Still Dreaming'' that it can!  Peace and Love

    For Jim H:

Please be aware there is no Wolfgang. Its a reference to Bill Graham, who died on October 25, 1991 in a helicopter crash while returning from a concert he was promoting.

These tapes for the most part, are recordings he arranged at concerts he promoted throughout the 60's to 80's, along with King Biscuit Hour tapes the website owner purchased.

Bill was a monumental figure in the early days of R&R, and is missed by all.

Its a tribute to Bill that Wolfgangs Vault is making this musi available.

Re: Quality of Wolfgangsvault audio stream

    Hi,

Our concert streams on broadband generally originate from 96k  mp3 files.  First downloads will be of 256k mp3 files.  As we've said before we intend to offer lossless at a future date but we haven't pinned that date down yet.

    Cheers - Mr. P.C.
