    Mysterious Bonnie

Mr . BB , Thanx for the insightful reply to my letter Fillmore West Closing Week 2 . You asked  for information on a jam session that occured that week . As I mentioned in that letter , I listened to the shows on K-SAN all week . So , the best I can give you is an educated speculation . I'm speculating that Bonnie may be Bonnie Pointer of  The Pointer Sisters . I remember The Pointer Sisters playing the venues in the bay area frequently in the early seventies . I still have copies of their first three albums on Blue Thumb Records . The first two were studio albums recorded in 1973 & 1974 at Wally Heiders studios in San Francisco . The third album was a live album recorded at The Opera House in San Francisco - April 21 ,1974 . On May 20 ,1972 , I attended a concert at Winterland that featured Dave Mason , Tower of Power , Copperhead & Herbie Hancock Sextet which The Pointer Sisters sang background vocals for Dave Mason . That's my education in this speculation .Hope I helped , and I'm logging into the Concert Vault forum daily for updates . Thanx .

    Re: Mysterious Bonnie

Thank you for the reply. Yes, your suggestion of Bonnie Pointer makes a lot of sense and may also explain who some of the others are. I'll have to refresh my memory on the vocal nuances of The Pointer Sisters and do a comparison to confirm. I suspect you are right, though.

Do you recall if they recorded "You Got Me Hummin" on any of those Blue Thumb LPs?

Also curious for functionality sake-- did you mean to post your reply in our original thread or was this new one intentionally out of that thread?

    Thanks again, MrBB
