    Quicksilver Messenger Service

A forum for QMS would be sweet.

    Re: Quicksilver Messenger Service

I'm listening to the concert that was just posted. Quicksilver was overlooked and rally undiscovered by the mainstream music machine. God, those guys were incredible. I saw them so many times. Free in the Park, at the Avalon and Fillmore West. Cipollina was a shaman, a guitar wizard.

I keep saying this over and over. Recordings are just a snapshot in time. People can't possibly know how heavy this stuff was way back then. My favorite performance was with the Dead, Youngbloods at the Family Dog at the Beach.

Hey guys, love the concert vault! Been lurking around the forum for a while - figured I'd give you my two cents about some bands I'd love to hear more of from the vault. How about releasing some more Quicksilver Messenger Service? - I'd especially love to hear more from the November 1968 Fillmore run, or maybe some more shows from 1966. If there are any Buffalo Springfield shows in the vault, that would also be interesting to listen to. Thanks for everything so far - Keep up the great work!!!

    Re: Quicksilver Messenger Service

A Quicksilver forum would definitely be nice and more shows would be well-appreciated.  Those cats were off the hook and until I came across the whole 'concert vault' side of WV, I'd only been able to find their mainstream releases.  I've probably listened to Happy Trails a couple hundred times by now and can replay it in my brain  practically note for note.  These shows prove just how tight they were and I'd love to hear more.
