I saw Robin Trower in concert this year - very good - playing better than ever.

I saw Mott in Winterland in '73. Awful. I was a big fan, and Mick Ralphs had just be replaced by Ariel Bender. He was horrible. I, being just a passible guitar player, wanted to jump on stage, knock him out and finish the set. Montrose opened that show, and they floored everyone. Joe Walsh and Barnstrom were next, and great. Not a bad lineup for my first ever concert.

Saw the same show and fully agree, MTH were pretty bad. Highlight of the Hoople set was Ian Hunter smacking Ralphs in the head with Mic as he was swinging it around. Montrose set SMOKED, one of their first Bay area show's I think?? Joe Walsh was also rippin, ton of fuzz feedback and rocked.
