New York Rock And Roll Ensemble

    Hi,

I'd like to get a groundswell of support going with anyone who remembers and loves the New York Rock And Roll Ensemble -- Michael Kamen's first group. Unlike many artists here at Wolfgang's, there were NO live recordings of the NYRRE -- and you can't even find any unofficial stuff out there!

Therefore, any concerts that Wolfgang's can provide would be extremely rare and valuable, as they would stand alone in the music world.

Please, some New York Rock And Roll Ensemble shows! Thanks.

    WOW!!!

i'm with you on this one. i followed them around nyc going to all of their shows in the late 60's including those at the original cafe au go go. their stuff wasn't even put out on cd that i know of, so i had to transfer it from my old scratched vinyl.
it's hard to find other people who know who they were, no less another fan. thanks for your post and i second that request whole heartedly.

I agree with both of you -- this group was the source of so much great music in the few years it existed, and although all the albums have now been reissued on CD, that just isn't enough for us die-hard fans.  The Fillmore gigs would be great to hear again.  Please?

    glad to see these posts.

I agree this band was something special. although i was too young to see them then i had the pleasure of watching Michael Kemen and Dorian rehearse for Michaels first solo album over the one summer. as for live recordings they do exist. and one from the filmore is out there you just need to dig deep.

take a look at michaels website and the forums chats and you will find 2 recordings one from the filmore as NYRRE and one from ULTRSONIC STUDIOS in studio concert after the release of FREEDOMBUGER. enjoy
