    Re: The Derek Trucks Band

DT is the best new artist in many moons. My son is hooked. Went to see EC just to experience DT live. Hoping he will do a bit at Furpeace so I can send him to 'camp' to learn from the master. My dream show would be Warren, Derek, and RRFB in one show! gmydsy

    Re: The Derek Trucks Band

I never knew Derek existed until my wife bought me tix to EC at Madison Square Garden for Father's/b'day.  I was awe-struck, Clapton was so on that night, but I got to learn who Derek Trucks was.  Purchased everything he has recorded, and took my father to see him at the Nokia theatre in Times Square.  The venue was great, Susan Tedeschi opened for him, nice husband wife combo.

My father, 68, is blown away by Derek as well as myself.  Buy "The Derek Trucks Band Songlines Live" dvd for your son, and have him check out www.derektrucks.com as well as  www.hittinthenote.com  for DT merchandise from the site of the Allman Bros Band. I have tix for shows in May, and plan to get tix for the Hamptons show as well.  Hope this helps. Peace

    Re: The Derek Trucks Band

Definatley the most respectable new artist around. Its great that he incorparates all kinds of styles into his music. His keyboard player, Kofi Burbridge is amazing along with the whole band. Definatley check them out if you haven't already.

    Re: The Derek Trucks Band

DT is not a new artist, he played with the Alman Brothers in the 60's. Check it out, he got his start there, I should know, I played with Duane and DT way back in the late 60's, when we were Hour Glass, then the Almond Joys. He is great and one of the nicest persons in music today. Just dont ask him his opinion of Greg Alman.  Thanks,Cowboy

    Re: The Derek Trucks Band

As he is under 30, I don't think he was playing in the 60s. Anyway, he's a great player and I'm looking forward to seeing him with Santana in a couple of weeks.

    Re: The Derek Trucks Band

Sorry, Derek Trucks is the son of Butch Trucks, they play so muck alike, this ole brain got confused, to much smokin I guess. Play his fathers stuff if you like Derek. Butch played with the Allman's almost from the start.

Been hanging with Greg to long.   Cowboy.
