    The late great Duane Allman

Am I Wrong or was Duane Allman the Greatest Slide/Blues guitarist ever to walk the face of the earth? I can think of only two men in the same league and that would be the late Mr. Roy Buchanan and the late Mr. Rory Gallagher. I'm open to any other opinions on this . So let me know what you think?

In my opinion, the best blues guitarist ever is Albert King. Duane definitely was one of the greatest slide guitar players ever. There are better white blues guitarists though (Clapton, Johnny Winter, Peter Green, etc.)

And I agree that Roy Buchanan was amazing. In terms of sheer inventiveness and innovation he was second only to Hendrix. And his playing is some of the most powerfully emotional of all time.

I believe you are absolutely correct. Nobody played blues guitar like Skydog. If anyone doubts listen to Whipping Post towards the end. Then check out the Layla album as well as many others Duane played on.
