    Best of 2007

We've scoured the Forums for comments, looked at your concert ratings, and polled our archivists to make our Best of 2007 list.  You can view it here.

If you've got favorites at the Vault, we'd love to see them & why they make your list - please share them with everyone by posting in this forum.

    Cheers!  Mr. PC

    Re: Best of 2007

Here are my favorite shows in no particular order, check them out if you have not already done so.

    1) Chicago Transit Authority - Fillmore West, 8-17-69 - Both the early and late shows are examples of why Chicago was hailed as one of the top 5 bands in existence at that period. Smoking hot!

    2) AC/DC - Towson University, 10-16-79 -  There is no such thing as a "bad" Bon Scott AC/DC show and this concert is proof! Bon and the boys are incendiary, whipping the audience into a fever pitch; the crowd at Towson is more than willing to abide to anything Bon says! A TREMENDOUS show proving that Bon Scott was the best lead vocalist in hard rock!

    3) Led Zeppelin - Fillmore West, 1-11-69 - Zeppelin was the master of rock! An incredible show before the lads broke huge. The Holy Grail of Zeppelin shows!

    4) The Band - Los Angeles Forum,  2-13-74 - The best "American" music done, and done by a "Canadian" band! If you like music even the slightest bit, this show will get you to love it!

    5) The Rolling Stones - Masonic Hall, Detroit 7-6-78 -  The last of the great shows done by the "greatest rock-n-roll band in the world", this concert proves that the Stones were indeed the best, especially when loaded! Yeah Baby!

    6) The Who - Fillmore East, 4-6-68 - How was it possible for the Fillmore East to continue standing after this show by The Who? Forget demolition balls and explosives, if you needed a building "pulled" during this era all you had to do was have The Who perform! Unbelievable!

    7) UFO - Record Plant, California 9-23-75 - Do you want to know why Michael Schenker was asked to join The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith and Ozzy - one listen to this concert and all will be understood! Michael Schenker is lights out!

    8) The Pretenders - Palladium, NY 5-30-80 - "Pretenders" they were not; this band ROCKED and rocked hard! Chrisy kicked ass and there were many asses kicked at this show!

    9) Steve Miller - Winterland, 3-17-73 - The "Joker" was no joke! He cooked on guitar and was the "Iron Chef" of American rock cuisine! This show is a wake-up call and reminder to many that Steve Miller blazed in the live setting; no "Abracadbra" here!

    10) Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Fillmore East, 3-6-70 - "Crazy Horse " would be proud of having his name atached to this band; this is no holds barred rock done with soul and love! This is Neil doing what he does best - rocking in the so-called "free world"!

    Re: Best of 2007

Wolfgang's Vault is the most incredible website a classic rock and roll fan could wish for. The concerts are fantastic. I grew up in the 70s and there was no bigger fan of the King Biscuit Flower Hour. I never missed it and, incredibly, so many of the concerts here are those old vintage shows, only without commercials and unedited! I never thought I'd ever live long enough to hear those old shows again. Not only do I get to relive the days of those shows, but as an added bonus, I can even hear songs from those shows that have never been aired! It is absolutely awesome. I would give anything to know how Wolfgangs Vault has access to all these shows. One thing is for sure - they have my business for life! The 1975 "Chicago" King Biscuit show has always been one of my "holy grail" King Biscuit shows, and it is here, complete and unedited. Way to go WV!!
