    Site updates and upgrades

We are hard at work updating the look and feel of the site and upgrading some of our services. We’ll keep you posted over the next several weeks but we wanted to provide a brief list of the highlights, most of which we expect to launch in early to mid November:

    1. Audio – We still have thousands of concerts in the archive that we have been working to make available for streaming. Over the last couple of years, we have become a bit more efficient at the process and we are close to adding a massive number of concerts. The exact number is still to be determined but we will let you know as soon as we nail that down.
    2. Country Music Vault – We have this great collection of live country music that doesn’t quite fit with most of what you find in the Concert Vault. Some of it is up today but we don’t think it is finding the right audience as it gets buried a bit behind all this great rock. We will be launching Country Music Vault with at least 200 of the greatest country concerts ever recorded.
    3. Broad site integration – We are developing a site wide search that will enable you to find concerts and audio interviews, memorabilia, articles on Crawdaddy!, upcoming live shows on Mojam, etc., all through a simple interface. This new site integration will also feature an extensive related artist database allowing you to easily search by band member or find associated bands.
    4. New look and feel – We are updating the look and feel beginning with a wider screen format that allows us to fit all of this content on the page. We will also include a simplified navigation and better links to various sections of the site. Next week, we will post a couple of screen shots to give you a feel for how the site will change.
    5. Video – Some amazing concert footage is coming soon to Wolfgang’s Vault. Preserving, transferring and digitizing these tapes has been a long and expensive process but we are getting closer. It looks like this is going to be a 2008 event as the process is incredibly time-consuming. We know a lot of people are eager to see these gems and we appreciate your patience. A full update will be coming sometime towards the end of the year.

This is all being done in an effort to make Wolfgang’s Vault your home for live music. If you have any comments or suggestions, please let us know.

    Cheers!

    Wolfgang

    Re: Site updates and upgrades

Hello Great holders of the priceless

I was reading an interview with Al Kooper who was talking about the Fillmore East and specifically he states that all the shows were filmed from the orchestra seating in black and white. I believe the quote is on the Fillmore East site.

My question is just if the above comment is perhaps valid even true. Can you tell me if there is a full live filmed performance of Janis Joplin with Big Brother and the Holding Company or with her other 2 bands in existence.? Just knowing that there is real  footage would be such  validating info for her true fans that long so for more live  filmed performances as there just haven't been that many that have surfaced but I believe there must be more in existence.

If you could just answer the question of BG existence filmed Janis footage that would really mean so much to me and her Nation!!!

    Thanks so much

    Re: Site updates and upgrades

    thank you, so much.....

i feel much better knowing that the video portion of the "vault" is on the way!!

i am sure, that i am not the only one who can`t wait to see a band perform a tour that

he  or she went to...with that being said, GENESIS, THE LAMB TOUR...1975...

has got to be one of the gems that needs to be unearthed....PETER GABRIEL put on

an incredible" stage show " that few to this day can match....

i am sure everyone has there favs, and that will be the fun of it, to go back and see these bands,

most of them at there peak, not just listen, but actually see the joy of playing live........

    thank you,

    Hi Guys at the Vault!

You people are great!  I'm glad you are making all these treasures available to the fans!!  I'm very excited for your guys' video section to launch.  I'm anxious to see if you have any footage of the band Head East in their heyday (1975-1980)  I've been told by original Head East member Roger Boyd that a video exists of them at Winterland in the mid 70's.  I think they were an opening act at the time.  Anyways, I really hope if you have ANY footage of Head East perfoming live that you will make it available.  I am a young Head East fan being only 18 years old but I have been searching HARD for the last 5 years to find footage of the band performing live and have turned up nothing.  I started out searching on the internet video places like Youtube and went on to talk with 3 original members of Head East and also a few people at their old record company A&M and ANYBODY else I could think of that has ever been involved with Head East.  I ask that you please take my request into consideration .. I know that Head East did not become as succesful as most of the people you put up for download ... but fans of those bands usually having seen one if not several concert videos of them... Head East fans deserve at LEAST one ... especially those who never got the chance to see them live in their heyday.

    Thanks for your Time,

Stephen Riker (Young Head East Fan from Missouri!)

I am ecstatic.  I love this site.  The video portion is nice, but being able to listen to some good classic rock at work is the best

    Re: Site updates and upgrades

What about the LOSSLESS downloads we were promised months ago? How about at least the courtesy of an answer?
