You've got some great stuff up--I just joined in response to your e-mailed announcement.

A group of us went to the Tuna show 3/4/88 and loved it for the surprise guests. Do you have plans to post the second set, when Grace Slick, Papa John Creach and Will Scarlett appeared? I have misplaced my KSAN cassette of the whole show, and would really appreciate being able to recover the music through your site ....

Keep adding more music!

The Grilled Tuna Was Best Part of the Airplane Menu

Served up piping hot, broiled to perfection, Hot Tuna live routinely put the Airplane, with all of its false hip pretentions to shame! Grace was a mediocre vocalist at best ( she even admits as such these days, no surprise there--and does anyone remember--or even care--about that disastrous solo album "Hole"--'nuff said, me thinks). Paul Kantner was at best a slimly talented guitarist and writer who got lost over all his space travel-science fiction-fantasy lyrics. While the Airplane remain a part of late '60's Bay-area legacy, and were a musical force in their heydey , the band's gratuitous over-indulgence in dead-end lefty politics, drugs and tired science fiction themes eventually doomed them as their own audience moved on (and for good reason, too!). Jorma and Jack were on to something, though..and the continued popularity of Hot Tuna as a musical entity proves that they were the heart and soul of the band--which could not exist without them--- and not all the fey hipness that Slick and the rest indulged in.

smells like fresh tuna

saw at chatuae louise,in the santa cruz moutains, same night some songs were recoreded for first album, hells angels there wouldnt allow most in,but i got in,what a !!@#$%^^&* NIGHT!!!!!

Hot Tuna - Winterland 4/30/72 sound quality

Wow! Typically raucous Hot Tuna! This is INCREDIBLE. However the sound quality is less than could be expected from the timeframe. Usually such a loss of high end is caused by dirty head on either the recorder or playback machine. If it's the recorder, then so be it, another master tape ruined. However, if it's the playback machine can you redo this? Otherwise maybe some post-processing to improve the high end...whadaya think?
