Miami Steve said regarding the Tom Petty Boston show, "I'm sure it was on King Biscuit...."
First of all, thanks for the great link to that Tom Petty radio show discography; it listed several items that I didn't even know existed, such as the Rock Around The World syndicated shows. Whoever set that website up did an ace job.
Secondly, they list the Boston show as having been a KBFH show, so you're right; I've just never seen it listed as a KBFH show, probably because it's on reel-to-reel. It's interesting to see that the Rock Around The World version omitted "I'm A King Bee" and Retro Rock dropped "American Girl" and "Too Much Ain't Enough..." and that "I Need To Know" was resequenced.
It also reminded me: there is a Tom Petty show from the Record Plant, too. By the way, has anyone else noticed that the several of these Record Plant shows have more songs than the original FM radio broadcasts? The Nils Lofgren show, for example, includes "Rock and Roll Crook" which was not on the original broadcast (I still have a cassette of the show)...nor was it on the "Back It Up" promo LP....nor the "Bootleg" album available from Nils' website....and it wasn't included in the Hip-O Select release of this material, earlier this year. Given that there have been three official releases of this material, and it's never turned up before, well, it's remarkable.
The Tubes November '74 show included "Boogie For The People," which I'm sure wasn't on the original broadcast, or on the 1976 rebroadcast. This is wonderful stuff we're hearing here....after years of trading multi-generation cassettes, well, I just want to say thanks to all the people at Wolfgang's Vault for making it available.
