Yes radio stations did broadcast from reel to reel in the 70's...I know as I almost bought a reel to reel of the Iggy Pop Chicago Mantra Studios 28.3.77 rehearsal, that had been broadcast on FM radio. Oddly - particularly as it features Bowie - even an authorised release has not been made from the mastertape. Maybe Wolfgang can get onto that one! I have a copy if they need help!...I guess nothing wrong in that as if it were to go on as a buyable download (hint!) Iggy and Bowie (as co-composer) could get royalties.
