    Re: Mahavishnu Orchestra

I'd just like to say that I'd love to hear some actual concerts from the later Armstrong/Walden line-up. Haven't heard any live material from this version of the Mahavishnu Orchestra. I hope these will be posted eventually. (???)

Narada's drumming on Jeff Beck's "Led Boots" and Holdsworth's 'Velvet Darkness', etc. etc., is truly revolutionary, inspirational and unique. (I'm one of those strange types who greatly prefers Walden's playing over Cobham's-- and these posted shows just reinforce that opinion-- Cobham's heavy-handed rudiment-based drumming just seems so cliched (& stilted, sorry) listening to these shows all these years later.

But then again, I preferred Weather Report pre-Jaco (the Chester Thompson/Alphonso Johnson time period!!!), so i can see my opinion is not the "typical" one!!

thanks again for the mid-70's fusion. (if there's any Herbie Hancock/Headhunters in the vaults, that would be fantastic to hear-- talk about Funky and complex at the same time!)
