I just bought my first download, Graham Parker at the Palladium, and it sounds great! Let's not forget that all of this stuff started on open reel tapes that have now been sitting around for a few decades. Regardless of what download standards are used, the sound is not going to be the same as the digitally produced music we get today. Fortunately the quality of the performances is superior to most of what is produced today.
