I saw Oingo Boingo when they were called the 'Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo' fresh out of UCLA and playing Madame Wongs on Wilshire.  late 70's.  That was a very agressive bad back there, today they would kick the butts of most of the wannabe bands.  I also saw them in the gym at CSUN.  The Ampitheater up at Univeral was also a great place to see them.  I knew they had hit it big time when they opened for the Police at the Forum.  What a set.  They upstaged Sting for sure.
