Thank you Mr. Caruso, for letting us know why this wonderful show "disappeared" and praise be to whomever for safely returning it to us! Soooooooo- if that was the reason- what was the specific "quality issue" with that show? Seemed pretty damned good to me the first time I listened to it- but I would probably feel that way about ANY Duane and Berry era show! That's when they SHINED and made their legend!! They were SOOOO sloopy, stoned and dis-jointed and plain B-O-R-I-N-G after they lost them- Duane would have NEVER let 'em get away with that crap while he was alive!! I was at both of the '73 shows you have posted- Winterland and the Cow Palace- fell asleep/passed out at BOTH of them - seemed like THEY did, too! It was "The Chuck Leavell Brothers" by that point. Kinda' like going to see THE BEATLES and getting WINGS or RINGO & THE ALLSTARS instead! CLOSE - but no cigar!
Speaking of the '73 Winterland show..... here's a "quality issue" for you - though listening to it again kinda' makes me "cringe"- I couldn't help but notice that not only does the so-called "review" of the show state that after "Trouble No More" they played "Whipping Post"(they actually sequed into it) and then came back and played "Southbound" a second time as an encore. (Yep- Dickie Betts said "We run outta'songs...!" Yeah- RIGHT!) So... right as they're going out of TNM into WP, the show you've got posted cuts out! No "Whipping Post"- no encore! What's that all about? Neither version is any big revelation to the world of music(WP is when I fell asleep!) but..if you're going to post the show, you might as well put the WHOLE boooooooooring- oops, I mean- "wonderful"- show, up there! Then I can use it as a "sleep-aide".......No more little blue pills! Heyyyyyy- THAT'S how you guys can re-coup your money!! Forget the "streaming"- forget the "downloads"! Can't you just SEE the commercials on TV? Little, burnt-out, glowing green '73 Allman Bros floatin' around your pillow- instead of butterflies- helpin' you get a good nights sleep! GENIUS!!
OK, sorry- I got kinda' carried away there- forgive me. The questions are; "What was wrong with the ABB Fillmore West show and what did you do to it and where's the rest of the Winterland '73 one?"
