I guess this is where I write my two pennies worth...
Great facility - some wonderful concerts.
Some wishes / comments -
The Bowie 23.3.76 Nassau concert should be expanded (several more tracks were recorded) and released on CD.
A double CD of the best of the Bowie 1983 concerts would be great too.
The recordings being on mp3 means the quality suffers a little on some recordings, but as this is free, doesn't seem entirely fair to complain.
Re quality...got to be said it is fantastic more often than not.
The Bowie Nassau concert sounds better than ever before (bar the squeaks in the background due to it being mp3) : the mix is one which I think Bowie initiated - the synth and rhythm guitar are swapped in their placing in the stereo 'picture' (after the original 1976 KBFH radio broadcast). The beauty here though is that, unlike the couple of tracks from this gig featured as extra's on the Station To Station CD, the mix sounds exciting and vibrant here.
The mix on the Bowie 83, Blondie 78 and Neil Young/Dylan show from 75 is to be applauded too. It's too bassy on the Neil Young 1970 show, but since that's just come out on CD/DVD again can hardly complain.
I do not have a rating or favourites facility, despite checking the help facility twice for advice on this. A shame, as I would like to vote for my favourites.
Shows I'd like to see?
More Blondie, Talking Heads (they recorded loads of live radio shows...I'm sure some of them must have been for KBFH if not for companies now associated with this facility), Simon and Garfunkel, Iggy, Lou Reed, The Doors, The Fall (they didn't do shows for KBFH, but maybe, just maybe one of the international shows they did might be up for grabs...), The Kinks, Robert Palmer (his live material really deserves to be heard, particularly some of the hard to find 1970's shows), more Neil Young, more of The Who, I'm not their biggest fan but I understand The Smiths recorded some live radio shows, and from what I've heard so far I'd be curious to hear more), The Pixies, Kirsty MacColl (I think she did record a show for KBFH in the mid 90's)?
