    Re: Welcome to Concert Vault

    Hey Joe,

I read it in the recent Rolling Stone (w/Snoop on the cover) and where I found out about this site. It was all in the article, mentioning how some musicians are debating taking action against their music being heard for free. God forbid!

I was most disappointed in Weir, as The Dead were notoriously known for letting tapers into their shows, and even had a section in every venue reserved for them. However, as I mentioned, the band seems to have turned in a different direction since Jerry died. They seem more focused on money, and less on community. Although, it looks like it's all Weir's doing. I guess since he's the new "leader" he calls the shots, as it were. I've been hearing lots of strange stories about the remaining Dead since Jerry, but mostly about Weir.

It's all kind of turned me off to any remaining Dead or RatDog shows as well. I still enjoy seeing Mickey, and any of his ensembles. He was always a little bit cheesy and celebrity-ish, but at least he was always that way, and you liked him for it anyway. Weir's steering that ship in strange directions.
