Just catching up to posts from the last few months. I see where some were saying this forum is dead. I used to post a lot, but had a baby, so between work and being daddy....
I am one of those who attended a number of shows at Fillmore, Winterland, and Fillmore West and wrote some lengthy stories about seeing the Electric Flag, Hendrix, Buddy Guy and others. I think my post are still here. See for example, the Hendrix thread. I also wait for the videos, because if there is reasonably good quality film to purchase from those days, I would not hestitate to plunk down the money for that. I mean, to see Hendrix back in Feb 1968 in all his glory would be outstanding. I want to see if my memory of how good Buddy Guy was in early 1970 is right! I could hear that show if it ever got posted, but a great part of the impact of the show was how Buddy behaved on the stage. So, when DVDs of the stuff I saw when a teenager shows up on the Vault, I will be a buyer.
Meanwhile downloading and putting tunes on an iPod or my computer is a lower priority for me. But, that takes nothing away from my praise and thankfulness of this site. They give away a lot of great music for free and hopefully younger listeners are tuning into the period of 1966-69 as rock and roll was reshaped by the influence of bluesmasters like Waters, Guy, and King(s) and by LSD, etc.
