I'm not sure if that's entirely true. I've heard bootlegs were Janis compliments many performers between songs,and has nothing but nice things to say about fellow musicans. Like the lead singer of the band "Loading Zone", The Who, Tracy Nelson, Tina Turner, Big Mama Thornton, Joni Mitchell, Iron Butterfly, The Beatles, The Band, Santana, Tim Buckley and Smokey Robinson. Not that I knew her, or I was actually there.....but I think Janis gets a bad rap from many who knew her and called themselves her "friend".
