Re: Concert Vault New Site Design

    Hello again,

Thanks for your reply.  Flash is a tremendous resource hog in case you didn't know, but that shouldn't be a problem for most people with recent equipment.  Maybe you could have a link on your page to help new users get to Flash.  I don't see one now.

I do have the latest version of Flash 9 loaded correctly, and even turned off some of the security settings I usually have turned on in my browser.  The biggest problem is that when the Playlist box comes up is that the little circle spins, but no sound comes out.  Sometimes it seems to scramble songs from different artists (like an 88:88 version of All Along The Watchtower by Poco[?]), or have a bunch of 'undefined' fields.  Several times now I have gotten the first song of a concert to play...but only the very first one.  If I move up or down, the information at the top of the box fills in correctly now (it was saying 'undefined' for everything), the circle continues to spin, but nothing plays.  Also, when the first song in a concert finishes, the machine just sits there spinning the little circle...can't even replay the first song.  I have tried putting songs into a PlayList (which doesn't work, period), tried several artists and poked around as much as I can justify.  The little circle has been spinning for almost 2 hours now, and I still can't get to song number 2 on the concert I have up.

I don't know where your server(s) are, but because of the number of 'hops' here to Alaska, some things just bog down and get out-of-sync at the server end.  Even if we do have more Web-related problems here than in the conterminous lower 48 states,  I have never had problems like this before.  We have *plenty* of bandwidth coming into our building, and I have a very fast machine.  (Actually I have tried this on several machines, all with the same non-result.) I'll re-install the latest Flash and reboot to see if that helps.  I'll also try from a different location later today to rule out some constraint where I work that wasn't a factor yesterday, but is now..  If I can't get things resolved in a couple of days I will use the 'contact' tab and try to work with your tech support to see what is or is not happening.  I stopped bringing my own material to work to listen to because I like site.  I hope we can resolve this as you do have a tremendous archive that I enjoy greatly.

Thanks again for the information, but I still have the feeling that there is something wrong somewhere, and not with my machine(s).  If I have any great insights that manage to fix the problems I am experiencing, I'll pass them along.<:)

    Jack
