Robmac: Yeah, you're right about the year being '71 instead of '70, and I agree with you on that version of "Just Like A Woman." I got a copy of this years ago from someone who had recorded it on reel-to-reel and it's been one of my favorite live performances ever since I got it....and I'm not a big Van Morrison fan.
That speaks to one of the interesting things about live music (for some fans, anyway...): artists can have a night where the combination of a great set list, a smokin' hot band, and personal inspiration create something that's equal to (and sometimes better than...) their released work. This is true, say, for Springsteen's '78 Winterland show - in the opinion of many fans it is far better than the officially released LIVE: 1975-85 set. I felt the same about the Nils Lofgren Record Plant show that's here on WV. It was originally released as a promo album to radio, and I always felt it was better than the officially released live album "Night After Night" that came out a year or two later.
