why do you say it seems more likely these old shows wont be available for download?
That's only my opinion based on observation.
It's been over 9 months since the Vault started making downloads available. If you go to the downloads page and sort by "Date (oldest)", you'll see that the earliest concert download from a Bill Graham venue is the Persuasions Winterland concert from Nov. '72. If you sort by venue, you'll see that there are only 5 concerts, '72-'74, from Witerland and only one, '85, from any of the Filmores.
After reading MrPaulCaruso's reply to that (in my opinion) over the top post by the guy from Panegyric/DGM, I find myself wondering if there are legal or rights issues that are keeping the Vault from making early Bill Graham Archive concerts available for download.
I've never been able to get an answer as to when, or even whether, any of these concerts will be available for download.
Wolfgang's Vault is a business. I've concluded that these concerts aren't available for download for business reasons, which is their right (and their responsibility to the stakeholders of the business.)
