Couldn't agree more. The contrast between the balls out kill of Symptom of the Universe with the stone groove they kick into at the end of it says it all for the way I think of Sabbath from this era. Menace fueled by adrenaline mixed with comfy trips into the stratosphere. I remember telling my folks back in the early 80s when I discovered them that I'd be listening to this music till I died. Sounded like rebellious youth then, but I don't go for long these days without digging into the back side of SBS or bashing through Sabotage.
I bought a VHS of the Never Say Die tour in London in the late 80s and got so pumped about it till I got home, only to find out it didn't play on American VCRs. It tore me up. Hearing this old stuff live has been a long time coming.
And Ozzy still ruled through the Rhodes days.
