    ARMs Benefit shows

Love the vault & can't wait until downloads are available.  But, to the point.....I was fortunate enough to get tickets to one of the ARM's benefit shows (Ronnie Lane and friends) at MSG on 12/9/83.  The show was sold out (as were all of them) and a contacted Bill Graham Productions to see if I might be able to beg my way in.  A little old lady (don't remember her name) talked to me & I explained my situation.  She incredulously asked me if I would really travel 1000 miles to see this show.  When I said yes, she asked how many tickets I wanted! I said four & she said ok, they will be at the box office for you.  23rd row on the floor at MSG to a sold out benefit concert!  I still can barely believe it to this day.

Anyway, if you have that show in the piles of tape you acquired, I would be happy to beg some more to be able to hear it!  Much love & Thanks.

Yeah that show is quite nice. You haven't seen or heard it since 83? In that case you could easily find it elsewhere. I remember that I saw this on youtube some time ago and was quite surprised by Jimmy's appearance. It wasn't the best he has done if you know what I mean. So it will probably never be released official because Page will do anything to prevent this to get out. But it seemed to be proshot so it would be great if you guys over here at the vault have this and could remaster it and fix the quality.

Pagey was definitely flying under the influence of a few too many substances!

Considering what he was already hooked on & that he was playing for the first time in years since the death of his bandmate, I don't blame or condone him. But his actions are unnerving every time he walks up to the microphone & speaks. It's as if he had bugs in his head & the only way to remedy the problem was to frantically scratch away at the scalp while talking.

I got the two shows,  at RAH  he's no that bad,  in New York  Pagey is very dazed and confused exactly as said above. Funny when he hits Clapton on the shoulder!?

    Re: ARMs Benefit shows

    *  I remember reading somewhere Jeff  Beck praising Page for playing  those ARMs gigs.  Beck was taking up for Page's poor playing reminding readers that Page had been out of the "scene" for a good long time before that Ronnie Lane Tour.
    *  Rod Stewart later said he was'nt invited to play the gigs. Guess the ARMS band did'nt appreciate Stewart's "Spandex" period either.......
    *  Some thieveing *** stole all the money (around a million $) those very generious musicians raised for Ronnie Lane's MS organization.  That almost certainly made Ronnie even sicker.
    *  There is dvd about Lane's life/career/work produced by BBC called "The Passing Show"...freaking EXCELLENT!

You could compose your post in a program that has spell check, and after making necessary corrections, copy and paste it here.  I do that sometimes (mostly when I remember, as my spelling sucks.)

    Re: ARMs Benefit shows

I was at the show, and after Page being in hibernation for so long it didn't matter to me what shape he was in.  He could have been dressed like a cheerleader for all I cared.  And I believe everyone else was glad to see him bipedal on stage as well.

I promise that this is the last time I'll digress in this thread.  As a follow up on spell check, I just realized that Firefox, the web browser I've recently switched to from IE has a spell check built into it.
