Does anyone know if it is fact or fiction that he put acid beneath his headband at the beginning of his shows? If so how much? Even better, if you ever saw him live, what was his behavior like? stumbling and mumbling? or alert and looking into the newx universe?

Heh....I've heard the lore of the headband many times. I've heard he used anywhere from 3 to 6 doses of LSD, that used to drip into his eyes. I don't know if any of it is true. Doesn't really matter at this point, but I think it's a cool legend.

And, if it is true, I wouldn't recommend trying it. The LSD back then is a lot different than it is nowadays. I had the opportunity to try some original formula acid a while back. It was called LSD-25, noting that the 25 stood for 25 micrograms of the magickal liquid infused on each tab.

Having tried the original, compared to what's been out there since I've tripped, I concur that the new boss, is not the same as the old boss.

From the books and other stuff I've read about Jimi over the years, I do believe the headband-acid  thing is a myth.
