My choice is Meddle.

Meddle is indeed a very fine experience. Animals is also great. But it is hard to beat Dark Side Of The Moon,and having said that,The Wall is THE conceptual recording project.

I DO remember a beautiful,snowy day in West Texas,driving for hours along the edge of the caprock/Staked Plains area,on back roads, where the Native Americans had lived supreme for milleniums,listening to Meddle with a carload of friends. A fungi had affected us somehow. WOW!...that was memorable...

 

 

Oh, c'mon.  It has to be Wish You Were Here!  (Serious statment.)

It's so great it was even very recently parodied in a Get Fuzzy strip.  (Serious happening, not serious justification.)

 

(By the way, I still have the Wish You Were Here postcard that was included with the LP in nearly pristine condition.)

 

(BTW2, I just reread the previous post, are we talking album covers or the recordings contained within?  Although I'm sure I'm in a vast minority, WYWH would qualify as my favorite in both categories.)

Wish You Were Here is a FINE listening experience(and has an awesome cover)! I miss the daze of album art,but I must admit I was really only concerned with the actual recordings. I doubt very seriously you are in a vast minority,Mr. 'Shroom! I remember the postcard and that is way cool you still have it.

I think the thread was about "covers" and I rudely hijacked the thread. Hipgnosis did some great stuff....

animals and wish you were here are my favourites, meddle is great and so is thier soundtrack work...all good music..

It's hard to define the favorite i.e. the best cover, I think...
Each had their specifics, but due to the interactivenes in Ummagumma, I allways liked it a bit better...

Is anybody going to mention the cover of Atom Heart Mother ? OH,what a good one.

   I always enjoyed looking at the cover of Ummagumma especialy when the boring parts of the studio section were playing on my record deck !

I saw that. Also there's a part where King Crimson is playing at first its like background music then it comes to the forefront. Very nice. That's a great movie.

Has to be Animals - quint essentially English. One hell of a building, Battersea power station and last time I looked is still there but just a shell.  Also the story behind shooting the photo is legendary.
