    Hi TG,
It was brought to our atttention that the speed was off on the transfer of this set. This is not unusual as the initial recording decks back in the 1960s occasionally ran a bit slower or faster than the perfect playback speeds used in transfer. This one was off by nearly 5%, which is quite significant. This problem is relatively easy to deal with if the speed variation is consistant throughout the recording, which in this case it was. It should return sounding better than ever.

    Stay tuned! MrBB

To the powers that be: is it too much too ask for a second Yogi Phlegm concert?  There was a show, presumably at Winterland on New Year's Eve, 12-31-71.  Grateful Dead, probably New Riders and Yogi Phlegm in a show that was much less fraught with the kinds of difficulties that bedeviled the band on the Last Week of the Fillmore show.  It was originally broadcast on KSAN, and my cassette tape of that show disintergrated many years ago.  After listening to the posted show, it only whetted my appetite for the far superior New Years' '71 show...

Well, MrBB, it's been over a year and we're still waiting for this show to return "sounding better than ever". What's the hangup?

    Hi Doc,
Good question. This was speed corrected some time ago, but then I lost track of it. Will check on it for you. Coincidentily, I'm working on another Sons Of Champlin show at the moment, which should make its appearance next week sometime. Stay tuned! MrBB

Re: Sons of Champlin Show Gone

Nice to hear the Sons show just posted. I think the personnel as listed could be somewhat different. It could've been, actually, on trumpet, and vocals ( Smile Upon a Face ) Phil Wood ( not Woods, who is a famous bebop alto saxist ). On sax, perhaps Michael Andreas, and bari sax probably Geoff Palmer. One of the Sons might remember, but then again, maybe not.
Still hoping for the 12-31-71 Yogi Phlegm show...
    thanks!
