Just been a member for a few days, but still can't figure out how to choose/apply a username for the forums.

BTW, can you tell me what happened to the alphabetical bar that was on the "Performers" page?   ~~thanks

This site is awesome. I have been curious when someone would realize there is a market for this kind of music. Big THX.

    Jazz/Rock Origins of Journey

I love your site... thank you for your creativity, chutzpah and hard work!

I do have one request.  I attended Journey's first concert (it was New Years Eve 1974 or so, at Winterland), back when the band was a jazz/rock phenomenon.  I would love to hear (or see a tape?) of that concert again... it is almost impossible to find tapes of the band from these very early days.

    Many thanks in advance!

    Re: What's Goin' On

This site is great. And in the spirit of Bill Graham wanting to expose young people to every sort of music, this is truly honorable. I was one of the female video camera operators at Winterland, Oakland Auditorium, etc., from 1971 - 1986. Remember those "boats" we were in. Fortunately, just days before Bills offices were bombed (because he objected to Pres. Reagan visiting Bitburg Cemetery where the German Officers lie), we managed to put all of the video tapes into cold storage. So they were saved, barely. It's a shame they're in black and white and such poor quality. I kept trying to get Bill interested in a color video system. He said, "What do I know about video?" I responded, "What do you know about planes, yet you own a Turbo Commander?" He didn't respond... I loved Bill, he was the most sentimental man I've ever known. His tough act was just that. I'll never forget him running around taking notes on index cards at every concert. He taught the world how to put on a rock 'n' roll concert. God Bless Him.

    Wolfgang,

This site is a dream come true for me and for all of us that appreciate these live recordings.  Thank you for taking the initiative, the time, the money, and the heart and soul to make this site happen for us.  These concerts are legendary and to be able to finally listen and appreciate them at a time when music was king (and still is for so many of us) truly special.  I look forward to the time that we will be able to download (for a fee, of course) and enjoy them everywhere!  God bless you for you and your work.

I can only QUOTE this post! Thanks a lot Wolfgang, this - is - GREAT.

    Re: What's Goin' On

    Hey Wolfgang,

WOW, I saw this web site on an Australian media show some time ago and since then have reconnected wth some great live recordings that truley represent music genre's that developed generations.

You have truley done a great service to the music history scene to ensure we don't forget where our music has developed from. The imperfection in live music gives a such greater depth of feeling and emotion and it would have been a tragedy to have had this priceless collection lost or heaven forbid, destroyed.

Thank you for this web site, thank you for making this available publicly and of course thank you for making this music available globally. (aint the web great- at last a truley great use for technology)

Can we down load this music so I can listen in my car and on my Ipod?

Keep up the development of your site, you are certainly heading in the right direction.

    Keep spreading the emotion!

    Beedg, Western Australia.

You might want to try reading the faq for general info, and also the post earlier today from "Wolfgang", who appears to be the voice of the Concert Vault staff.
