    What's Goin' On

Thanks for all the feedback. The activity in the forums has been phenomenal, and your participation makes Concert Vault a richer experience for all of our visitors.

Some common questions have surfaced recently that we would like to answer:

First, and most importantly, when we broadcast these songs on Concert Vault, we pay the artists, through their respective Performing Rights Organizations (BMI, ASCAP and SESAC), in the same manner they would be paid if their songs were played on the radio. We pay on time and in full.

Second, we spent a significant amount of money to purchase the assets (and all of the intellectual property rights associated with these assets) that you find on our website, including, in particular, the recordings of all the concerts we make available.

Lastly, we invested millions more to transfer these very old tapes into a digital format and then repair, mix and master these recordings to prepare them for streaming. We will continue to invest in our website, streaming system and network architecture to deliver high quality music for free.

By the way, Concert Vault has some new enhancements that you must check out.

    1. We have added a My Playlist feature – you can now choose your favorite songs from any live performance and easily add them to your personal playlist, which can then be accessed and played at will.

    2. Refined Sorting – all column headings on any browse page (Performers and Top-Rated, for example) can be sorted by simply clicking the column heading.

    3. The Concert Detail Page has been updated – rating concerts and adding them to your Favorites is now easier and can be done from the Detail Page.

    4. More precise user ratings, login improvements and other measures all aimed at making your Concert Vault experience as good as it can be.

Please let us know if you think we are moving in the right direction.

    Cheers!

    Wolfgang

    Re: What's Goin' On

you just blew my mind with the seatrain show!! been waiting and asking and it has been worth the wait. this show is definitely during their most productive period after the first 2 capitol lps.(their second and third lps overall.)

these 2 lps  seatrain-self titled and produced by george martin!! yes that george martin!!!

and marblehead messenger are my 2 favorite lps of all time. still!!!!

this show features the strongest material of these 2 lps plus flute thing which they did on their very 1st lp before a lineup change and the 2 capitol lps.

thanks a bunch my life is complete.

will look for more seatrain shows in future. hope u got more in there. and while your at it more wishbone ash who was on the bill with seatrain this incredible night. i CAN NOT believe i did not go to this show.

    Re: What's Goin' On

Thanks for all the hard work, it's greatly appreciated. Regarding "My Playlist", I have one quick question and one minor glitch to report.

Question: is there a limit to the number of tunes we can have on our playlist?  I can easily see myself getting carried away and having dozens if not hundreds of tunes I'd like to put on mine.

Glitch: Right at the top of the page under "My Playlist" is (number of) Tracks and then Time:

Time seems to be displaying only total minutes (less the number of hours) and seconds, but hours is totally truncated.  This by no means a big deal to me, but I thought you might like a bug report.

    Re: What's Goin' On

Wow.  In the immortal words of Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force, "This is friggin' awesome man!  Yeah!"  Seriously though, this is friggin' awesome.  A little taste of Plant's vocals on "Dazed and Confused" from the 1/11/69 show and I'm in some sort of semi-sexual, Led-Zeppelinatory dream haze.  The site is very well organized, the information on the individual concerts is great, and the selection is awesome.  You tell me this isn't everything?  No way.  You tell me this is free?  No way.  I love you.  And Robert Plant.

    Wolfgang,

This site is a dream come true for me and for all of us that appreciate these live recordings.  Thank you for taking the initiative, the time, the money, and the heart and soul to make this site happen for us.  These concerts are legendary and to be able to finally listen and appreciate them at a time when music was king (and still is for so many of us) truly special.  I look forward to the time that we will be able to download (for a fee, of course) and enjoy them everywhere!  God bless you for you and your work.

    Re: What's Goin' On

The site is excellent!  I am amazed at the quality of the recordings & the info about the concerts is wonderful -- makes me wish I could have been there.  I read about the site in RS and it has far exceeded my expectations -- what a great tribute to these artists.  The My Playlist feature is perfect -- I can see this becoming my primary source for music at home.

Thanks for all your hard work!!

    Re: What's Goin' On

Wolfgang. Found this site today, from the help of old time dj Charles Laquidara out in HI.. Is there any stuff form Spirit that might be coming on the site in the future.. They are surely missed as one of the performers.. The sound quality on these are great.. I have to agree with another poster.. Seatrain.. Awesome.. One of the forgotten great groups of old. Thanks and keep up the great work.

    Re: What's Goin' On

    Wolfgang,

Thank you so much for all of this.  It is unbelievable.

Keep up the fight and don't let those greedy bastards try to take you down.

    Cheers from New Hampshire!

ps. Any chance of posting some classic-era Van Halen concerts on the site?

Re: Wolfgang for the win! Screw 'em and tell 'em to get a real job.

Thank god Clear Channel is out of the picture (please tell me they have all of their fingers out of it!)...and it is too bad the real Wolfgang (Billy G.) is not in it any more! RIP! He would be very happy with the gamesmanship of the business and this endeavor to project the human spirit to the world!

    Re: What's Goin' On

This is the best thing to happen for all the music lovers all over the world, especially for all those who  were not as fortunate to see these great bands live. Unlike studio albums these take you back in time. Thanks to Bill Graham and Wolfgang to deliver these gems to the world. Thank You! Thank You !
