The Who at Winterland 1976: One of the Greatest Performances they Ever Did?

I've been talking to a couple people and this concert is supposed to be one of the best.  They were flying in this performance playing all of their hits.  Will you guys add this concert? Any who fans out there that have been to this concert?  If so tell me all about it cuz I've been interested in this concert since I heard about it.

tickets were sold by a drawing - I was lucky enough to get 4 of them.

I spent alot of years going to shows around the bay area, and have seen the who several times, and this show was my all-time favorite.

I was there. A buddy of mine named Tom Witt got four tickets and was kind enough to hook me up. We were seniors in high school and drove over from Carmichael (Sacramento). The chance to see The Who with the original line-up in what was formerly an ice skating rink was phenomenal. All of the craziness up close. It must have been our lucky night because we got pulled over on the way home and were let off the hook!

This was a great era for SF concert going as I saw many bands at Winterland over the late '70's including The Ramones, The Jam, The Tubes, Springsteen and the E Street Band (Darkness On The Edge of Town Tour, "Let's go, I hear this guy is good live" LOL), Bad Company and the Sex Pistols. I believe the ticket to the Sex Pistols "Never Mind The Bollocks" tour was something like $3.50!
