    Streaming Interruptions

In the last couple of days I've had a lot of random interruptions to streams - sudden bursts of other songs in the middle of a song, usually studio recordings of what sounds like 80's soul. I've had these occur in all of the streams I've been listening to (the Who, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Blondie, Elton John. etc.) Any ideas why this is happening?

I'm using Firefox on a PC running XP.

I just experienced the same thing.
Playing my play list and its suddenly interrupted by completely different music not on my list. Then it jumps back to my list.
    I am running IE6 on Win2K.

    Has anyone else seen this?

Did either of you see it again?

We tried to reproduce it but were unsuccessful.  Sounds like a very strange occurrence.

It only happened that one day.

I'm streaming again today so I will watch for it.

    Re: Streaming Interruptions

dpdiamond, yours sounds like a different issue.  Basically, your stream stops, right?

If you are using Verizon FIOS then you have a very fast Internet connection.

I would look to see if some other source on your PC or home network is using up your bandwidth, and causing your Concert Vault stream to get interrupted.

You also should check your personal firewal/internet security software to confirm it's not scanning Flash streams.   That could also cause the problem.

    Cheers - Mr. PC

    Re: Streaming Interruptions

Thanks, actually what is happening is that after about 2-4 minutes into a song, the stream stops, and a message pops up that says "buffer full", then after about 5-10 seconds on average, the stream starts up again... I am running windows XP, Verizon FIOS, IE V 7 I believe... any additional comments? How do I check to see if a firewall or something else is scanning flash streams? thanks Paul

do you have any internet security software installed - Norton 360, Norton Internet Security, McAfee, etc.

    Re: Streaming Interruptions

Yes, I have Mcafee which has virus and firewall options.. I have even tried to disable the firewall...

Also, I tried listening lastweek, and no problems throughout a show... Then another day, same issues... every 5-6 minutes a pause, cut-out, then buffer full, then starts again...

    Re: Streaming Interruptions

Something is strange.  I would contact Verizon and tell them you are getting intermittent service interruptions that are causing dropouts.  You wouldn't notice these in most web applications, but Concert Vault streaming is sensitive to it.  If we get an outage of more then 3-5 seconds you will get this.
