I would be very interested in many of these recordings, but the fact they are MP3, count me out, no thanks. Why would i want 78's when we have DVD audio? OK, not a fair comparison, 78's sound better than mp3's...we have this digital age, and mp3 wins...how sad...what a sad statement. Screw the music FLAC files are too big, space is money, time is money. We get it, it's about the money, not quality music. I would settle for 16 bit FLAC files but 24 bit would be better. DVD audio would be awesome, but CD quality 16 bit is acceptable, nothing less, ever. So thanks, but no thanks...

 

 

Though I'd put it in less sour terms, I agree with the post directly above. What's the point if it's MP3? Might as well listen to the streaming versions for free. If I'm going to pay money for it, it will only be for CD-quality sound. What a silly idea to offer MP3 format. I'm guessing that most of your listeners here are a bit older than teens and thus are a little bit more discerning about sound quality than the average iTunes chump.

So how soon is "soon" in offering lossless format? And what is the lineage of the lossless files?

Please count me out as well until lossless format is offered.

carry on streaming while the rest of us enjoy these re-mastered concerts on the bus, train, running or anywhere else we chosse to take our portable MP3 players. I think your missing the point here. But of course, your no i-tunes chump, so stay next to your hunning PC and stick with the tolerable streams.

as a current member of the bittorrent community,i implore you to consider uploading in either flac files or shn files.these are lossless files,as opposed to crummy, lossy mp3.i know of no intelligent users of download technology that will accept mp3 as they lose bits of data rapidly,providing you with crappy recordings,that will get even worse fast.
also,it would be in the interest of wolfgangs vault,as well as the consumer,to offer these downloads as bittorrents. although sometimes slow, it is impossible to receive a virus through a bittorrent download,as is attested to by the millions of bittorrent clients being used as we speak.
converting your music files to wav then either flac or shn is accomplished very rapidly,and the end rusult is vastly superior to any other format.this,in combination with bittorrent technology,offers the absolute finest sharing of music files in existence.also,shn and flac converters,and all bittorrent clients are FREE to anyone desiring them,making it attractive to even the most modest consumer.
also,if there are any plans to upload any video,the best choice would be video ts files.i have dl'd hundreds of dvd's using this technology,and it is excellent,particularly when used with bittorrent.
