Re: Downloads Coming in April
Thank you tons and tons for no unsightly, troubling and spell breaking cd like shutoffs in the shows. Some of the interactions with the crowds is a trip. Can't wait. Hope your server is up to this.

Re: Downloads Coming in April
I'll say it again. I'll take whatever is offered . We all would want lossless, but if it's not available,I'll take what I can get. Thanks to the site. It's a live concert candy store.Has some great stuff I thought I'd never get a chance to hear. Nice hearing some old King Biscuit stuff that's been out of circulation, and some of them entire shows vs. the usual 50 min. show. Thanks again.

Re: Downloads Coming in April
This is great news indeed! I am solely interested in the lossless versions of the shows. Please try to keep the cost reasonable. If you sell MP3 versions for $9.99 it should be possible to sell the lossless versions for $11.99 or $12.99. This will keep me coming back time after time. However, if the price escalates much higher, I'm afraid I'll have to pass on most of them.
Thanks again for all your efforts, this site is an Internet Treasure!!

Re: Downloads Coming in April
Hello Vault Radio,
1 thing I do is write TOO MUCH,beg, grovel, hold my breath 'til I get my way&generally expect way too much from V.R. too fast.I also like to voice my opinion, alot.Just remember I'm cynical, sarcastic&find humor in just about everything.I mean "best bands"or "best guitarists"{it's simply a matter of personal taste}debates!?That's just funny to me.If YOU like it then it's good.Thank you to;WOLFGANG,MR.PAUL CARUSO &the VAULT KEEPERS.It's 60 degrees or so &sunny so as Clapton sings "Badge"'78,I'm Outta here.
Keep On Doin' Whatcha Do V.R.,
GTRZAN
p.s.:Can You guys find some Jeff Beck&Johnny Winters!?

Re: Downloads Coming in April
Howie,
Of course! We pay all required licenses for streaming audio concerts. You can be sure that, no matter what we present at the Vault, all material will be properly licensed.
Much of this remains to be defined. First videos from our archives will not be presented until later this year, and many issues are still yet to be determined - presentation, technology and business model to name but three.
Cheers!

Mr Mushroom said,
My apologies to moo, who in a much more succinct manner, has already requested nearly what I just did.
Glad you said the same, the more of us who suggest this, the better chance it might happen!

Re: Sorry, But This Boat Won't Float
Metal:Sorry, but the good ship "Lossypop" I refuse to board. The problem with your providing lossy downloads is that the inevitable idiot, probably many idiots, will convert the lossy (mp3) downloads to FLAC. Wonderful! But now the idiot(s) will distribute lossy product as lossless. Along comes Conscientious Trader Joe with his original DAT > WAV > FLAC recording of the Howdy Hoodoos -- the only recording ever made before their plane went down in the Whiffacoochee -- and offers to trade his high-quality CDR for Lossy Idiot's crappy fake. Trader Joe now does a frequency analysis on the spot, with his laptop computer, before forking over his Howdy Hoodoos disc to Lossy Idiot. Guess what? Lossy's crummy coaster not only does not cause Joe's laptop to melt down, but passes with flying colors! (See links in final paragraph on how this can be). Joe will now give Aunt Leslie lossy, mutt material from the Vault, in spite of its passing muster with EAC. (That's Exact Audio Copy, the preferred frequency analysis tool, for you audiophile neophytes). Lossy, being the genius he is, will immediately take Joe's Howdy Hoodoos FLAC CDR, convert its contents to mp3 with and for his crappy computer, and set his beer mug down on Joe's CDR, as he has neither mind nor ear for its value, put up his feet, and congratulate himself on a job well done. In a perfect world, mp3 wouldn't even exist. Imperfect as the real world is, however, we can take measures to preserve quality. Distributing the Graham treasure as lossless only -- sorry, Concert Vault Radio lovers -- is one step in the right direction. I am sorry to report, however, that I am late -- the process of corruption has already begun. Lossy Idiots are copying the contents of Wolfgang's Vault radio stream and, you guessed it, converting them to FLAC. In keeping with principle, I do not listen to the Vault radio stream. Like many others who've joined the Vault forums of late, I will wait for the real deal of FLAC downloads. Meanwhile the very verifiability of the coming original FLAC downloads you promise, diminishes with each passing day. Meanwhile, the deluge of dilution, and the proliferation of fake FLAC. Finally, rummage through this, read that, and burn the other thing into your brain, if you want to learn just how hard it can be to detect lossy audio, and how to become a better trader.
Why do I get the distinct feeling, dear Reader, that this has sailed over your head like a frisbee on a hot, beer-soaked afternoon?

Re: Downloads Coming in April
These are not bootlegs, geddy. These are master recordings from the Bill Graham and King Biscuit archives that we are the legal owner of, and for which we have been issued copyrights. For more info read this post.
