    Re: Concert Vault Feedback

First of all, thank you! Great job so far. Love the writeups.

Sound quality is good for streaming, as is the player. But I would think twice about buying these as downloads. There's lots of artifacts here and there from excessive noise reduction/tweaking/compression, and the bass is often lacking. If you were to offer better-sounding versions for download, I'd want to hear a sample of just exactly what I'd be buying.

In any event, thanks again and keep up the good work!

    Re: Concert Vault Feedback

I thought this place was absolutely great when it began, but it has surpassed my wildest hopes.

    Many thanks.

Hearing some of the '67ish shows brings back a lot of memories of my time in SF.

    I'm 59 now, but after a few listens, I'm feeling 20 again.

    Getting there

The concern raised above also concerns me.  The audio quality is very spotty on some shows.  For example, the group I loved so much, The Electric Flag -- on one tune (Texas) it sounds like Bloomfield is playing on another stage being heard through the wall.  Some might be concerned with mono vs. stereo (like Moby Grape's early '67 show at the Fillmore sounds like one track), but that doesn't bother me, as being given the chance to just hear this show is a delight.  But, if the vocals or main instruments are not turned on, or sound like they are 1,000 mile away, that's another matter.  I wonder if the live audience heard it this way, this was just a soundboard issue, or it's the way it went down on tape 40 years ago due to taping problems.

    Re: Concert Vault Feedback

The concert fault is something I have waited for for 40 years!!!  THANK YOU WOLFGANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  There are so many that I don't know where to start.  Although there are plenty of 70s and 80s and etc bands and music, I'm hoping that MOST attention will initially be placed on the 60s.  None of the rest of the music would be here nor would it matter if not for the Summer of Love.  That is the base from which it all sprang forth.  So if possible, I'm hoping that you roll out the origin of real rocknroll concerts from where it all began in San Francisco in 1967 and earlier.  Jefferson Airplane, Janis, Lee Michaels, Moby Grape, the Dead, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Iron Butterfly, Buffalo Springfield, Steppenwolf, Canned Heat, Spirit, Ten Years After, Richie Havens, Mamas and the Papas, Traffic, etc, etc,etc - I just really am happy that you guys are doing this!  Now PLEASE!  Can we down load it too for times we cannot be online???  PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  lalzee - i love you guys!

    Re: Requests

Thanks for your generosity in making all of this great music available.

    Jim Sheridan:

Great site with amazing offerings. I have a few requests:

John Mayall, especially with Mick Taylor

    I second that request.

Any chance you could post the whole "eyeball" concert:  Mayall, Hendrix & A King? Or any Otis Rush?

Thanks for the A King concert that has been posted.  Sounds great.

    Re: Concert Vault Feedback

I was in front of the stage at the Led Zeppelin concert at Fillmore West.  No one knew who these guys were.  There was mescaline going around the crowd that night.  There was a fat naked hippie older woman also at the front of the stage.  She had a white bed sheet on and would open it up from time to time.  Robert Plant and Page were laughing.  I thought I was going to vomit.  I remember watching Plant sing, and how the light was flickering through his hair.  I thought he had the most beautiful head of hair I had ever seen and that he had a small salami strapped to his leg.

    Re: Concert Vault Feedback

    Hi,

great site, incredible music, thanks a million times! There's a little amendment for the fabulous Terry Reid concert. The song listed as 'unknown' is called 'Summer Sequence'. First Terry is announcing it, second you can find it on the Double CD with complete Epic recordings. Just to give Terry a little bit more of the collection society cake you maybe should change this.
