"the Who suck" - wow, you're such a wordsmith.  You still angry about the New Kids break-up or was it the recent failed Britney comeback that has you in such a foul mood?

If you don't like them - fine, that's your perogative.  On the other hand, it is possible to say you don't like them without letting the worldwide web know you're an idiot with a limited vocabulary.

Hey, maybe you should go over to Youtube - there's a million jakcaps there.

    Well said, coltom.
That is exactly the childish stupidity that you see on YouTube.
I have never understood the juvenile fascination that some people have with jumping into a thread just to spew hate.
I personally don't care for, say, Madonna. But I won't be seeking out Madonna fans to inform them of that fact. I am mature enough to understand that they don't care about my opinion. As I don't care about theirs.
I wonder if posters like that even posses the capacity to think out their actions prior to posting.

    Uncle Chick:

As far as the show is concerned, this often booted concert is THE FINEST pre-Tommy show by The Who. The group's power didn't kick into full gear until 1971, when they were at their touring peak. If you were fortunate enough to see them in 1971-72, you saw and heard the greatest band to ever take the stage.

Compared to what? There were hundreds of shows we can't hear now. Nice thought, but come on.

When are we going to be able to download The Who shows or the Floyd shows?  Is this ever going to happen?

Compared to the hundreds of shows I saw and have on bootleg recordings. It's just my opinion, but it's based on an exceptional sample. Thanks for considering this.

Re: The Who April 6, 1968 Fillmore East Show

I'm sick of people like Bill Sagan who sit on the gold and never let the poor have a slice.

When the hell are we going to see DVDs of Tanglewood 1970? How about the Filmore

show? I know these exist for a fact. The Who fans get *** on more than any rock

fan.Look at Zep and How the West Was Won and all the great footage coming

out.The Who were the greatest live band ever and hoarders sit on the early 1970s

stuff which was the Who's best period.

Take a look at the Houston 1971 film stills.I know a guy at

    http://www.shroomangel.com/shroom/videos.htm

that has the complete show from the 'WHO'S NEXT'  TOUR.

but he's another one who flaunts the gold and makes us only

dream about it.He posted the stills on a chatboard once so

I was able to snatch them before he pulled them down.

Go to my blog and look at the stills.

Someone please email me if you ever

hear anything about WHO films please.

Re: The Who April 6, 1968 Fillmore East Show

I do appreciate the music that Bill Sagan allows us to listen to here

but I know that there are also very vintage film of The Who in

that vault and I would like for Bill to release some of it so

we can see The Who at there best such as Tanglewood 1970

which he told me they were restoring 3 years ago.

    SO WHERE IS IT???

Re: The Who April 6, 1968 Fillmore East Show

    Dear Mike,

We appreciate the intensity of your appreciation of The Who, but we do not appreciate your comments in this forum and in the emails you have sent to us.

You wrote in an earlier post, "I'm sick of people like Bill Sagan who sit on the gold and never let the poor have a slice."

All of us at the Vault are offended by your comment.  "Sit on the gold?" We have posted three concerts by The Who, one each by Pete and John, two by Roger, and interviews with Keith and Pete, and you accuse us of holding back? And we make these available at no cost.  How can that possibly sicken you?

Please stop personalizing this to our owner. He has very little to do with which concerts get released each week; he relies on a team of people that are working incredibly hard to post these concerts in the finest condition possible, with accurate summaries and set lists.

We know that The Who is everything to you.  You must understand that the Vault has hundreds of thousands of listeners, and many of them are just as intensely devoted to bands other than The Who.  This site isn't only about The Who - it's about music from hundreds of different bands across dozens of genres.  So please show some respect for your fellow listeners, and for us who are working to bring these archives to you AND to everyone else.

    Cheers - Mr. PC

Re: The Who April 6, 1968 Fillmore East Show

I was reffering to The Who on concert film not audio.

Anyway,I apologize to the team.Keep up the good work

and hopefully the team will release some Who concert

film from the archive which haven't been seen in over 31

    to 40 years.

    Regards,

    Mike

Re: The Who April 6, 1968 Fillmore East Show

Thanks for clarifying this, Mike.  We haven't posted any video from our archives yet - from The Who or any other performers. As we've mentioned in the Forums before, we had planned to get video up this year, but rescheduled it in order to complete the site upgrades we just released this month.  This was a major effort for us.

Video is still in the works.  We don't have a date on it yet, but it is one of our highest priorities.

    Cheers - Mr. PC
