    Re: Welcome to Concert Vault

Just discovered this site after seeing an article in the LA Times this weekend.  By far, the best music site on the net.  Some of the greatest live music ever recorded all on one site.  Wow!  Thanks for putting this together.  I am addicted to it.

    Re: Welcome to Concert Vault

Thank you so much for all the music. I am an old fan that used to attend many of the old concerts at the Filmore. The Vault is the best thing that I know of on the whole internet. I accepted many apples from Bill Graham at the door over the years at his shows. Now if you can only replicate that smell that permeated all my clothes after a show then the experience would be complete.

    Hi Vault,
since quite a while, I am a frequent listener of vault radio. I'm 39 years old. This type of music belongs to my earliest childhood. My Dad used to play records of all this kind of music. I am so delighted, vault is available. Thank you so much!
    Yours    Jochen

One suggestion, can you make all the text a little bigger? i can barely read most of it. and thanks so much for putting this all together!!! this rocks!

Many of us boomers have the same issue.  Microsoft makes their new mice with a magnify function on the left hand button.  It lets you scroll anywhere on the screen like a magnifying glass-less than $30 at Staples, et al.

My Goodness - this is Rock n Roll Heaven!  You made my dreams come true!  What an incredible service - This is what the Internet was created for!  Thank you!  In the words of Bruce Springsteen, you hit this "Point Blank!"  Totally incredible - then I find The Clash, Stevie Ray, Duran Duran, Elvis Costello - this is crazy!  Gotta get back to the listening!!!!

Wolfgang, we Salute you; and for those about to rock!

    Re: Welcome to Concert Vault

Hi, I thought I was pretty damn competent on a computer. I'm trying to post some feedback...really.  But I'm having trouble figuring out how!  I can only reply to existing "posts."  Pretend I'm a seven year old...

By the way.  It's a good thing I work out of my house as a Realtor.  Otherwise I would of lost my job months ago.

By the way...Laura Nyro to Genesis to Faces to Stevie Ray Vaughn to Robert Cray to Led Zep to Ric Ocasek...and on and on...Jesus!  My car and home stereos are now relics...

    Thanks!

    Re: Welcome to Concert Vault

Hello, can you be more specific about The Doors soundboards you have and why you are sitting on them?  Please don't respond with the standard "see my answer from several months ago" deal.

    1. How many Doors concerts from Graham venues do you have in your archive?  You stated you have already transferred and mastered them.

    2. Do any of these Doors soundboards contain a rare performance of "The Soft Parade?"  It is believed this was performed at The Cow Palace in 1969.  Do you have this particular date?

    3. When you say The Doors don't pass internal quality tests, can you please be specific as to what is holding them back from Web distribution? A lot of soundboards by other artists here are live direct to mono soundboards with sometimes awkward mixes.  So how much worse are the multiple Doors soundboards you stated you have? What is wrong with them? Sound fidelity? Performance?

    4. On what type of tape media were these late 60s era soundboards taped?  For example, did Graham record the Doors direct to mono on a 1/4 tape machine at 7.5 ips? Direct to twin track stereo?  Or did he tape them on 4 track, 8 track at 15ips etc?

    Thanks!

    Re: Welcome to Concert Vault

This is a gem of a site. Thank you!!! I hope to hear some Rolling Stones from the late 60's early 70's. That would be sweet. Thank you for what you provided already.

     Bingo.
