    Avery Fisher Hall

First off, I just want to thank Wolfgang's Vault for finding these recordings and allowing the general public to listen for free and have the opportunity to purchase. This entire collection of Mahavishnu Orchestra performances have been nothing short of a miracle for me. Unbelievable live music of this priceless group.

My comment is specifically about this last couple of performances that came at the end of '73. Thanx to the excellent liner note/blow by blow reviews for each and every concert, I noticed that both Mclaughlin and Cobham had recorded historic albums earlier in the year and in particular, Spectrum, launching the solo career for Cobham. The influences both of them picked up playing with different bands, and then re-infused into the Mahavishnu Orchestra was spectacular, really standing out in the version of Awakening.
Thanx again for this miraculous treat.

Yea, I have to agree, we have been waiting for this kind of stuff for years.  When you read the book power, passion and beauty and then listen to these shows, you can experience the 70's in case you missed it like myself who was born in the 80's.  Wolfgang has the key that is unloccking the door.  But they have so much more Mclaughlin; wait until they start releasing some Guitar Trio of the early 80's, some shakti, some Mahavishnu/Santana, and Lifetime!!  Colombia/ Sony dropped the ball on all this stuff, but WV is throwing the hail mary!
