Howdy B.Butes.  I am going to move this thread into the Mike Bloomfield forum and see if I can dig up any information for you on that venue/date.

Sorry, I couldn't come up with anything diffinitive regarding this date/show. The people working on transfering the audio are working so hard that if we have it I am sure it will show up soon on the Concert Vault, so keep checking.

Re: Mike Bloomfield: Live at the Fillmore West?

I dont know if you're still looking for an answer to your question of whether Mike Bloomfield played at the Fillmore West in '69 or not, but I think I could help.

Yes, he did play the Fillmore in '69, quite a bit, I believe.  And, yes, there are recordings of it.  These dates, I know for sure, he did play:  1/31, 2/1, 2/2 and 2/8, all in '69.  As far as official releases of these, there is an out-of-print album called "Bill Graham Presents Live at the Fillmore West Mike Bloomfield" (or something like that..); however, it's out of print but is a circulated bootleg for those who converted their albums to digital.  If you can't obtain a copy of this out-of-print release, some of the tracks have been released on Nick Gravenites "My Labors" album.  As far as the February dates in '69, I dont believe there are any official releases but there are widely circulated soundboard bootlegs out there.

Being a San Francisco resident, I'm sure he played many more dates than those listed above.  Maybe someone in the "know" could add to the above or correct me if I'm wrong.

    Hope that helps...

Good info from Mia regarding this great run of shows, but to be even more helpful to the original question, we currently have recordings from this run right here on Concert Vault. Navigate over and among performers, select Michael Bloomfield. These shows were actually booked as Mike Bloomfield, Nick Gravenites, Mark Naftalin and Friends. At the moment, you can choose between sets from the Feb 1 & Feb 2, 1969 concerts.

    Help yourself and enjoy! MrBB

Re: Mike Bloomfield: Live at the Fillmore West?

Much of that stuff (from the 2 albums) is now avaialable on Don't Say That I Ain't Your Man, Al Kooper's Columbia release.  The great Carmelita Skiffle is on there - with its perfect soloing like a Bach cantata all the way through.  Some is also on Nick's My Labors.  I have a feeling I am repeating what others have said, especially bloomsdisco who is a true authority on the released and boot stuff extant.
