    Welcome to Concert Vault

We hope you enjoy the Concert Vault’s incredible live performances and the listening environment we've built for you to enjoy the music.  As we promised when we announced Vault Radio ten months ago, we will continue to expand our live performance concert inventory, add new features to make the listening experience better and keep it free to listeners.

Here's what's new in the Concert Vault.  First, we have added the remarkable King Biscuit and Silver Eagle audio archives to Bill Graham's and hundreds of full concerts are now playable on demand; further, we will be adding at least 5 new concerts each week.  Second, new Vault Radio playlists are three times as long - meaning that no song will be played more than twice a day and there will be a brand new radio playlist every day.  Third, not only will the listener control the radio playlist but also can search for and play full concerts.  Fourth, listeners can easily communicate with each other, unfiltered, about a particular concert, performer or venue in the Concert Vault Forums.  Lastly, the Concert Vault now offers an alternative music stream that can be played by dial-up listeners.  Our listeners wanted all this for free and without excessive ad clutter.

We know you want more and we are already planning for the next web-release of both Wolfgang’s Vault and the Concert Vault in March of 2007  Wolfgang’s Vault will undergo major changes as it makes itself into a complete live performance music destination website.

In the next 60 days we will add new functionality to the Concert Vault.  For example, listeners will soon be able to create and share their own playlists from our live performances.  In the next 90 to 120 days we intend to offer full-concert downloads and, in 180 days we will present never-before-seen live performance video from the thousands of concert videos we have in our archive.

We have done everything we can to protect this music from those who would copy it illegally.  Our music files are not easily-copied MP3s and are delivered, solely, through a Secure Flash Audio Stream, only accessible by registered users.  As security technology evolves, we will employ it to further protect this music.  We believe that the Concert Vault and Vault Radio, playing the vast archives of Bill Graham, King Biscuit, Silver Eagle and, very soon, others, will be a preferred destination for all those who especially value live performance music with all its spontaneity and imperfection.  Those who illegally copy this music may ruin it for the rest of us.

Before the great Bill Graham announced a band on the Fillmore stage, his first words were, “Ladies and Gentlemen” … and then he named the performer.  We have named this weekly column after this introduction which he delivered tens of thousands of times all over the world.  Without Bill Graham there would not be a Concert Vault.

    Cheers! (Graham’s sign-off)

    Re: Welcome to Concert Vault

This is the best thing to happen to live music in a long time. You guys are doing a service to the classic rock community by preserving and releasing these recordings to so many of us who are desperate for more vintage live rock from our favorites. I cannot express how happy and grateful I am that you have released these concerts. Thank you so much.

    Re: Welcome to Concert Vault

Thank you for this extraordinary website.  I'm listening to Blondie, at the Paradise, Comm. Ave, Boston.  Debbie Harry & the guys have never sounded better.  I saw the Cars perform several times at the Paradise.  Please add the Cars, live in Boston, to your playlist.

    IMAGINE.

    Re: Welcome to Concert Vault

Not really sure if this is the "proper" forum for asking a question BUT.....

I already own ALOT of original King Biscuit radio show CD's and records- is there a way for you guys to notate on the concert what the source you're posting is from (K.B.F.H. or B.G., ect.) so we don't get all excited thinking that something "new" or never heard before is being posted and then being disappointed when we find out it's not? Or even just a note showing only B.G. sources and the others can be? or whatever. It would be really appreciated!

Also, wondering why it is that there are so many of the old KSAN radio "simulcast" broadcasts that you keep posting? Especially the New Years Eve shows and the closing of the Fillmores- those were all pretty common broadcasts that any average tape trader would have had long ago. Same with the "Dead" stuff- what's the point? Dicks Picks, ect. and traders have covered that territory ad nausem! Why post shows using the BROADCAST as the source- with the radio DJs talking over parts and "static" coming in- when/if you have the actual "board" source tapes- the "raw" source BEFORE the station gets it and broadcasts it? That's NOT "complete, unedited", like it's pitched. Why use THEM as a "source" and not the tapes from the "board"? Just curious...

LOVE all the other stuff!! I was there to hear and see most of it when it was performed at The Fillmore, Winterland, Cow Palace and all points in between- lotta' GREAT stuff still waiting to be heard again!!

                                                    Thanks!

    Re: Welcome to Concert Vault

Rockingest site ever.   The radio rotation was spectacular already, and now the full concert availability is gonna make this place catch fire.   The plan for ongoing improvements promises to make this even more inconceivably amazing.  Beautiful work capturing the artists in their best settings and allowing us to relive their joy in playing, and our joy in seeing many of them.

Keep up the astounding work, and thank you Bill Graham (RIP) for your venues and your vision.

Gotta go - time to listen to Dickey Betts' Amercian Music Show of '74!

    Re: Welcome to Concert Vault

The hardest part of this is picking what to listen to next. 6 down and each was a treasure.  Thanks to Bill Graham's dedication we can relive the music magic of those days. Hail, hail rock 'n' roll.
